But here’s the thing. You can’t help if you don’t have the tools. That’s why I’m encouraging you to take the step and get certified in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA). It’s not just about learning facts—it’s about being prepared when someone needs you most. I get it. It’s tough. But what if you had the tools to step in with confidence? What if you knew exactly how to recognize when someone is in crisis and how to guide them to the right support? That’s what MHFA training gives you. Take a moment. Here at Vetiver Training we start our week with a Mental Health First Aid Refresher course. We will start the session reminding ourselves of the skills we learned as a MHFA England® MHFAider and revisiting some of the key aspects of the original course. For Mental Health Awareness Month myself and other colleagues from Visa got Mental Health First Aid certified. Mental Health First Aid is a course that teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challanges. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial support to a colleague who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to appropriate employee resources. #MHFA #LifeAtVisa

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) equips individuals and organizations with the skills to identify and assist someone who is developing a mental health challenge or is experiencing a mental health crisis such as panic attacks, bouts of depression, difficulties with expatriate adjustment or the after effects of trauma or bereavement. Just as with physical first aid, in all situations the goal is to provide support until appropriate professional help arrives. The central aim is to improve the Mental Health Literacy (MHL) of individuals and organizations, defined as the ability to be sensitively aware and respond with skill to people experiencing mental and emotional challenges, and facilitate appropriate action. Supervising First Aid for Mental Health builds on the Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health and covers a wider range of mental health conditions and goes into detail on the range of therapy and professional support that a person may be given by professional bodies during treatment for a mental health condition. The course is suitable for all persons within a workplace but is aimed at those who hold a supervisory/managerial level position and who have responsibility for implementing a positive mental health culture and responsibility for First Aid for Mental Health within an organisation. #ManchesterEducation #MentalHealth #Training
