Calix Limited congratulates its partner Heirloom on the successful completion of a US$150 million Series B funding round. Calix’s subsidiary, Leilac, has previously signed a global and perpetual exclusive licence agreement for its technology to be used in all Heirloom DAC facilities. Leilac CEO, Daniel Rennie said, "We congratulate our partner Heirloom on this significant milestone, and look forward to continuing our successful collaboration. Our complementary technologies provide unique combined potential to efficiently absorb and then capture atmospheric carbon dioxide using limestone. We continue to rapidly deploy and scale our solution in the pursuit of carbon dioxide removal at the gigatonne scale. “The successful raise shows confidence from a broad range of sophisticated investors in the technology and the supportive emerging market and regulatory environment, and a conviction to invest in great technology solutions to critically important climate challenges.” Calix Limited CEO & MD, Phil Hodgson added, "The successful funding round represents a further proof-point of Calix’s strategy. We continue to rigorously focus on capital-light deployment of our technology to the most prospective target markets through strategic partnerships and immediate revenue generating opportunities." 🌟 Reflecting on an enlightening session at the "Transitioning Energy in the Mediterranean" conference organised by WEC ITALIA - COMITATO ITALIANO DEL CONSIGLIO MONDIALE DELL'ENERGIA and OME Observatoire Méditerranéen de l'Energie, in collaboration with Edison. 💡 #MedTSO, represented by Secretary General Angelo Ferrante highlighted: 🔸The diverse Mediterranean landscape emphasizing contrasts in load demand and #RenewableEnergy evolution. 🔸Electricity is more than a commodity; interconnections bring invaluable services and benefits. 🔸The absence of key pillars like EU-wide development plans and grid codes in the Mediterranean. 🔸Urgency for regional policies and EU support, emphasizing the need for coordination of institutional initiatives. 🔸Need to develop financial instruments for boosting long-term capital-intensive investments in the grids. Exciting discussions paving the way for a resilient #MediterraneanEnergy future! #EnergyTransition

Yesterday, at H-Nat Summit, I had the pleasure to be part of the panel about the challenges of financing the nascent industry of natural hydrogen with private money. 👉 What is the state of funding ? 👉 Who are the investors entering the market ? 👉 What are the lessons learned from fundraising ? 👉 What is the investors view on natural hydrogen ? It was an honor to share the floor with Vincent Bordmann, Nicolas PELISSIER, Antoine FORCINAL, P. Eng. and Nicolas Piau, under the great moderation of Morten Stahl. My conclusion was nothing else than my deep conviction : to make this natural hydrogen revolution a reality, we must all work closely together. Strong cooperation and high ambition must guide pioneering explorers and visionary investors in the same direction. Hydrogen revolution is in the earth 🌍

Europe is structuring the Hydrogen ecosystem, and a critical point was set today in Berlin. This first in-person meeting of the European Hydrogen Standardization Coordination Group allowed us to set the who, the how so we can focus on the what. A market needs rules, but before regulation, we have to reach common requirements and ensure the safety and compliance of equipments, systems and the applications. Most already exists, lets accelerate ! Many thanks to DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung e. V. and CEN and CENELEC for having prepared this work since the ECH2A Roadmap publication early 2023. France and Groupe AFNOR are eager to fully participate, providing the support for the French hydrogen ecosystem.
