Earlier this year at our annual leadership retreat we learned that a strong personal brand can help you attract the right people, land a job or promotion, and make connections that lead to new opportunities. With reflection and intentional actions, you can gain confidence in your personal value and project it in your life and career. Find your personal brand then live by it every day not just on paper or behind closed doors. It never ends and is constantly evolving like we are. 🙂

Recently I had the opportunity to be in a leadership role with planning a milestone event that, thanks to an excellent group of volunteers, turned out extremely well.  Since then I’ve been able to reflect on what I learned about leadership and working with a team and below are some highlights of those lessons learned.  While these observations are not rocket science and are from the perspective of planning a one-time event vs an on-going operation, they also have an application to leadership in general. 1. Cast a vision with a purpose.  Communicate both the what and the why.  Repeat. 2. Celebrate team wins publicly. 3. See the big picture [item # 1] AND a reasonable amount of detail.  The devil really is in the details. 4. Understand what are the primary items to have a strong voice on vs what to leave to others, but see that the other voices fit in with the larger vision and purpose. 5. As much as possible, be more concerned with how an activity supports the vision and end goal than micro-managing the exact process to get there.  6. Create an accountability dynamic. 7. Stay out of the way - this is not about you. 8. Let the team winning and the fruits of their labor acknowledged be your satisfaction. 9. Be in the trenches.  Do the grunt work along with everyone else where you can. 10. Serve others.

🌍 Amazing week back in the UK for our annual global leadership meeting! We dove into our strategy for the next two years, discussing how we can operate even more effectively as a leadership team. Reflecting on a challenging year, it's inspiring to see how far we’ve come, boosting efficiency, scaling operations in the US, and launching a landmark project in FiveTwoNine. We’ve also integrated cutting-edge technology to solidify our position in the creator economy. Our goals for the future are bold: growing client fees, investing heavily in improving our team’s BDB experience, and streamlining our operations to deliver even greater impact. It’s not just about celebrating the wins we’ve achieved, but how we’re building a foundation for bigger successes ahead. And of course, it wasn’t all work! We ended the week with blindfolded driving (thankfully not a metaphor for decision-making this year) and my personal favourite: the minefield challenge. Here’s a snapshot of the fun.

  Are you an open 📖 or a closed 📘 book at work? The extent to which we share personal thoughts and emotions at work often depends on our personalities and preferences. ⚖ When it comes to sensitive business information, exercising caution is crucial. 🛡   However, one aspect worth sharing is your personal values. ✨ I encountered this idea at a leadership development seminar earlier this year and have been reflecting on how to incorporate it into my role as a manager. 🤔   One approach I’m considering is hosting a team exercise on personal values during an off-site team meeting. I believe this could be a significant benefit for everyone, fostering deeper connections and understanding among team members, especially if the team has grown recently.   For context, my personal values are: ambition 🏹 clarity 📣 and empathy 🤝   Have you ever explored, communicated, or worked with your personal values in the workplace?
