Here's how you can kickstart your AI learning journey as a beginner.
AI is changing fast & having a strong business impact. As a tech professional, my recommendation is to learn in many different ways. The best way to learn is by doing! Play with various tools by asking it questions about various topics. The more specific you are the better your results will be. For instance, if you want to take a trip somewhere, ask it to act as an expert travel advisor and plan a trip to a specific location, etc. Learn while allowing the tools to be useful for you. There are excellent graphics generators as well with varying levels of quality. Some of them allow you to have a certain number of free trials. Reading, watching videos & talking to your colleagues about their experience will also expand your knowledge.

What do you do if you're a software developer facing high levels of stress and pressure?
There are many ways to help reduce the stress. I've found it helpful to create a plan to progress through your work. Often it's the idea of such a big project, without personal milestones that can make you nervous. After you've created a plan, if your final deadline is not realistic, communicate! Talk this over with someone you trust and create a plan that is achievable by reducing scope, adding people, etc. Make sure that you take breaks, particularly to get some movement, sun and fresh air throughout the day. This can be game changing. Working endlessly will actually reduce your efficiency and add more stress in the long run. Make sure you are caring for yourself by eating right and getting adequate sleep.

What do you do if your engineering team is struggling to choose the best management software?
Starting with a clear list of prioritized requirements is very important to a successful decision. It's best to consider the user experience, including the ease and efficiency of the experience and the reports you are able to generate to monitor your Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Identify go/no go requirements. I believe in using a structured decision analysis. In my experience, this helps the team think deeply about what is most important and do a bit more research than they would if they didn't need to defend a rating. When ranking the requirements, the team should consider if the current rating could be easily remedied. This is often the case, depending on the vendor and future releases of the product.

My role goes beyond mere assistance; it’s about fostering curiosity and confidence in budding engineers. Whether I'm grading essays, answering questions, or helping with projects, I feel privileged to contribute to a platform that encourages diversity and innovation in engineering.
Each interaction is an opportunity to ignite passion and offer guidance to aspiring engineers, especially young girls who may not always see themselves represented in STEM fields. It's incredibly rewarding to witness their enthusiasm grow as they realize the boundless possibilities within engineering.
I'm constantly learning too, whether it's from the challenges posed by curious minds or the insights shared in the essays I review. Together, we strive to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels empowered to explore, experiment, and envision their future in engineering.
In essence, volunteering for EngineerGirl isn't just about sharing knowledge—it's about building a supportive community that nurtures the engineers of tomorrow, one interaction at a time. -

As a volunteer for Upward Bound, I play a crucial role in empowering students from underserved communities to achieve their academic and personal goals. Every interaction I have with these students feels like a chance to make a meaningful impact in their lives. Whether I'm tutoring, mentoring, or leading workshops, my goal is to inspire and support these bright young minds on their journey towards higher education.
I am privileged to be a part of a program that not only encourages academic excellence but also provides essential guidance and resources to students who may face barriers to success. Through one-on-one mentoring sessions, I get to witness their growth firsthand—seeing their confidence blossom as they realize their potential fuels my passion for volunteering.
Beyond academics, I help organize cultural outings, college visits, and career exploration activities, broadening their horizons and showing them the myriad opportunities available. These experiences not only enhance their educational journey but also foster a sense of belonging and community.
Volunteering for Upward Bound is not just about giving back; it's about advocating for equity and access in education. By being a supportive presence in their lives, I hope to empower these students to break through barriers, pursue their dreams, and become leaders in their communities. It's a privilege and an honor to be part of their transformative journey.
