Simply put, abandoning DEI commitments is a significant misstep for companies like John Deere and Tractor Supply. For DEI programs to succeed, it's crucial that the consumer experience aligns with the employee experience. Black and brown people have been pivotal in sustaining the agriculture industry. When companies like #JohnDeere and #TractorSupply retreat from their DEI promises, they inevitably see higher attrition rates among underrepresented groups. Neglecting DEI commitments is also damaging to a brand's reputation and negatively impacts the employee experience. Until organizations view and manage employee experiences with the same care and attention as they do consumer experiences, they'll continue to suffer the consequences of ineffective DEI practices. It's time to prioritize and obsess over DEI to ensure alignment across all facets of the business. But HR teams can't do it alone. HR teams are instrumental in shaping the employee experience. They must actively protect, develop, and advocate for DEI programs within organizations. Without these programs, HR alone can't implement best-in-class approaches to inclusive hiring or succession planning. They might overlook pay equity and fail to facilitate supportive gatherings for underrepresented groups like Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) do. No" doesn't break us; it builds us. I cannot Imagine missing out on transforming a business’s point-of-sale system—making it more efficient, secure, and capable of driving growth—simply because of the fear of hearing "no." In my experience, success is a natural outcome when you focus on helping others achieve their goals. Embracing challenges and pushing through the discomfort of rejection has allowed me to bring meaningful, impactful change to the businesses I support. When we focus on creating value, the right opportunities will always follow.

I am very thankful to Neil C. Hughes for the recent opportunity to talk about a topic we care deeply about - Transformation Fatigue and how Emergn is solving it for many organizations. Excited to be running our TOP TEAM EFFECTIVENESS in-class program for three prestigious institutions over the coming two weeks. A top team is the core leadership group that represents the CEO's agenda and helps guide and shape the direction of the organization. They share many of the characteristics of any team (perceive self as team, share goals and interdependencies) but they are unique in their visibility and importance and in the stakes and bets they play. The crème de la crème, they have big egos and big talents....and that CEO succession dynamic teeters under the surface at any one time. Creating Top Team Effectiveness is as important as it is elusive.
