Are you planning to donate to breast cancer research this month? Donating to cancer research is a powerful way to support the fight against breast cancer, but it’s important to ensure your donations are going to legitimate organizations. By law, charities must disclose how they use funds, and as a donor, you have the right to know how your contributions will be spent. Always research organizations to ensure they are reputable and that your donation will make the intended impact. At The Siler Firm, we encourage you to donate wisely and support reputable breast cancer organizations. Knowing your rights as a donor is key to making a difference. Childhood cancer sucks. It can be really hard to know how to help. Our founder Mitch made it easy when he made the pinky promise years ago: help families with everyday expenses so they can focus on what matters most - their child. There are so many ways you can help outside of a donation. Here are four more: 5. Employee Giving. Check your company for a match to help twice as many families! 6. Grants. Some companies offer grants to non-profits. Consider nominating Pinky Swear. 7. United Way. Designate Pinky Swear as your charity of choice! 8. Donor Advised Funds. Support kids with cancer through yours today! No matter how you give or how much you give, you are helping kids with cancer and their families. ⭐⭐ Marathon Hike to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support ⭐⭐ 💰 Donate 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eWJpTbjp Following the success and generosity of everyones help raising £1755 for MacMillan Cancer Support last year on a marathon trek across the Cornish coastline, I'll be Donating a Day this year on 31st August to complete another! ...and clearly someone at MacMillan got the hint as they have a properly sponsored and organised "Mighty Hike" this time, vs last year with just me, a mate, a backpack and high winds. 💕 About MacMillan Your help is hugely appreciated and any donation, no matter how small, makes a real difference to someone living with cancer. With 1 in 2 of us getting the big C at some point in our lifetime, one way or another it touches all of us. As someone who's lived through that myself (as you may know from my fund raiser last year) - if you know someone living with the C right now, there are many ways you can help from a cup of coffee, to a listening ear, to help with small things around the house. With treatment being so tiring, even a home cooked meal can make a real difference to someone's day - trust me. 🚶♂️ The Walk Last year I picked a route close to my home down in Looe through to Charlestown near St Austell. This year, Macmillan have a "properly" organized trek route including stewards, medical staff, drinks and snacks at pit stops. Could have done with that last year at about mile 15! The route starts in Padstow and runs along the coast, through Mawgan Porth and finishing in Newquay. More about the event - https://lnkd.in/eQ5xxRfU ⌛ Last Year 9 hours, 33 minutes, 42 seconds - 27 miles, enough elevation to do Ben Nevis, storm force 50mph winds and wet and muddy. Zero training and almost busted my hip in the process. ⌛ This year Who knows? - 24 miles, about half the elevation, and hopefully dry... I type that while looking out the window at torrential rain. I'm on a calorie counting diet at the moment, but similarly poor general fitness. Anyway - I really appreciate your support, and please do think of those in your life affected by the Big C. Tom

Some really positive and eye-opening stats from the latest Enthuse Mass Events Report 💡. Here are my key takeaways: 🙌 1 in 4 are committed to participating in a charity event in the next 12 months 💰 39% raise up to £500 per event; 48% raise between £500 - £3,000 per event; and 13% raise £3,000+ per event 🎯 The most successful event fundraisers start six months out from event day, with four in ten (38%) of those raising £3,000+ 😥 In contrast, just 8% of those who started fundraising a month from the event hit the £3,000 mark #charity #fundraising #eventfundraising

Macmillan Coffee Morning: Sip, Chat, Support! It’s that time of year again! Macmillan Coffee Morning is back, and what better way to kick off your day than with coffee and cake. Held annually, this event invites people across the UK to come together and raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. It’s a simple but powerful way to make a difference in the lives of those facing cancer. Today, whether you're hosting your own coffee morning, popping into a local event, or just enjoying a quiet brew, every cuppa counts! How to Get Involved: 1) Host Your Own Event – Gather your friends, family, or colleagues, bake (or buy!) some treats, and share a cup of coffee while collecting donations. 2) Find a Local Event – Not the hosting type? That’s okay! Search for local coffee mornings in your community and simply show up, sip, and donate. 3) Donate Online – Even if you can't join in person, you can still support Macmillan by donating directly on their website -https://lnkd.in/eF_D8uts 4) Social Media Shoutout – Snap a pic of your coffee morning and tag @macmillancancer using #MacmillanCoffeeMorning to spread the word. So, grab your favourite mug, treat yourself to a slice of cake, and let’s raise some funds for this fantastic cause. Whether you're a seasoned barista or just here for the cake, today’s all about supporting those who need it most. #MacmillanCoffeeMorning
