Coaching is a life-long journey of professional learning and personal development. That is why it was such a treat to join the International Coaching Federation's International Coaching Week! It was great opportunity to learn from other professionals in the field, coming from different backgrounds but answering the same calling. I also made a whole bunch of new connections and saw familiar faces - hi, you guys! Coaching can be a lonely profession. It is easy to stagnate and feel isolated. Same with being let go from work or starting our own business, they can feel equally lonely and depressing. In those circumstances it is important to remind ourselves that we are not alone and we are always in control of our own behavior: ◾ Reach out to others who have been through or are in the same situation. ◾ Join a community with shared interests / challenges. There are some great communities here on LinkedIn, e.g. Amir Satvat’s page if you have recently been displaced, or the #ICF for coaching practitioners. A burden shared is a burden halved! And we continue our journey of professional learning and personal development... together. #personaldevelopment #coaching

What distinguishes coaching from other problem-solving conversations? A coach will explore what you want to change? Help you describe your Why? Discern your current perspective? Identify assumptions and beliefs limiting your thought process, and the perceived problems you want to resolve. Marcia Reynolds says it well, a coach explores: "the person's perspective to expand their stories so more answers and actions come into view?....Coaching expands the context so people understand the situation beyond what they think they know...the lightbulb pops on as creative insights comes into view." If you haven't explored coaching yet, International Coaching Week is next week and there are several opportunities to learn more about coaching. Here are just two in the Edmonton area: CHOOSE COACHING, ICF Edmonton Chapter Hosted by Kelly Johnson, ICF President & Executive Coach https://lnkd.in/gPTtRrYU Join my 30 minute interview with Haesun Moon Phd, Executive Coach, Communication Expert and Author of Coaching a-z. Haesun invites you into the space of purpose, possibilities and progress. https://lnkd.in/gUgC4exz If you want to 'sample' coaching at any time, feel free to reach out for a complimentary session. It is my passion, and for the first time in several months, I have room on my dance card for two new coaching clients...exciting!

Good Morning!. Today it is. "E- Else" from the book "Coaching a-z" by Haesun Moon. "Invite other perspectives and available resources a person may have not yet considered or considered relevant." Opening doors to new ways of thinking, new avenues to venture is a part of the coaching process. "If this is not possible, what ELSE can you do about it?" Working around unlimited possibilities and unlocking them for ourselves and the client is a part of success in a coaching program. She says," dialogues build more options instead of decide on one best option." This also reminds me of the OCFC-Open, Curious, Flexible and Client centric mind set that a coach needs to adhere to. Taught to me by my mentor and trainer Ujjaval K Buch Coacharya. #coaching #unlockingpotential #personaldevelopment #selfcoaching #growthmindset 😀

Do you feel like you're not 'good enough' as a coach? We've all been there. If you're feeling like you're not "good enough" as a coach, know that you're not alone. Many coaches experience self-doubt and imposter syndrome at some point in their coaching journey. It's natural to feel this way, especially when you're working with clients who are looking to you for guidance and support. At the Coaching Catalysts, we understand these feelings and a couple of ways we work on these areas are to engage in coach supervision and coaching triads. Both of these development strategies provide a safe and supportive space for you to reflect on your coaching practice, receive feedback, and explore ways to improve your coaching skills. We also believe in the power of community and connection. Joining a community means you'll be surrounded by other coaches who are facing similar challenges and opportunities. You can learn from their experiences and perspectives, and build relationships that can help you grow as a coach. So, if you're feeling like you're not "good enough" as a coach, know that it's okay to feel that way. And know that there is support available to help you overcome those feelings and become the best coach you can be. That's why we're offering a free one week supervision and coaching experience to help you increase your self-awareness and take your coaching practice to the next level. I’ve been thinking a lot about the power of coaching lately. For many it can be a game-changer, but sadly the high costs can be a huge roadblock for many people. That’s why I'm passionate about offering affordable coaching. Imagine a world where everyone, no matter their background, can access the guidance and support they need to thrive. Affordable coaching makes this possible. It levels the playing field, giving everyone a fair shot at personal and professional growth. By making coaching more accessible, we’re not just helping individuals; we’re building a more inclusive and supportive community. Let’s get behind the idea of affordable coaching and work towards a future where everyone has the tools they need to succeed. Who’s with me? 🙌 #Coaching #PersonalDevelopment #ProfessionalGrowth #InclusiveSuccess #affordablecoaching

#WhyCoaching? - A year and a half into a profound journey of surrender, humility, and soul-searching, I found myself seeking ways to cultivate my life meaningfully. It was during this time that I was introduced to #TransformativeEducation. This concept, built on distinctions and principles, enables actions that lead to different results and new possibilities, essentially making the unknown possible where it was once deemed impossible. Curious about this transformative approach, I discovered it wasn't just about education, philosophy, awareness, or training—it was a profession called #Coaching. Unlike therapy, which addresses the past and present, coaching focuses on the present and future, emphasizing measurable results and action-oriented strategies. The appeal of coaching also lay in its freedom and flexibility, unbound by geographical limitations, allowing me to practice anywhere in the world. This sense of boundless possibility and the ability to create meaningful change around the world, drew me to dedicate myself to coaching. It all began through the practice of learning, which underscores the essence of what makes coaching so impactful. 🚀 Happy International Coaching Week! 🎉 In celebration of International Coaching Week, I'm thrilled to offer free coaching to two individuals who are curious about coaching. Simply DM me to learn more. (Please share, like, and pass this on to a colleague or friend who would benefit from this kind of experience.) What is coaching all about? As organisations strive to foster cultures that prioritise employee well-being and growth, coaching has emerged as a powerful tool for providing personalised support tailored to the unique needs of each individual. Unlike the typical advice or problem-solving we often encounter from mentors, colleagues, friends, and family, coaching creates a nurturing space for individuals to uncover insights from within themselves. For me, coaching is about holding that space with intention and empathy, fostering curiosity, and embracing each person with unconditional positive regard. It's a gift of empowerment, where the coach serves as a catalyst for self-discovery and growth. Seeing individuals tap into their innate wisdom, overcome obstacles in new ways, and embrace their full potential is incredibly energising!🌟 #InternationalCoachingWeek #CoachingJourney #Empowerment #SelfDiscovery #ICFcoach

It is International Coaching Week #ICW2024 and this weeklong celebration is a chance for us to inform, share and inspire you. Coaching is still a relatively new tool and one that has traditionally been reserved for senior professionals going through a transition like a big promotion, or bad behaviours that need to be straightened out. Thankfully, the profession has moved on and coaching is accessible to anyone. Just like in sports, if you need to run faster, jump higher, break free of limiting beliefs like "I just can't do it", a Coach will help you do that. We need help in general life too. 💡 So let's get back to basics, what is coaching anyway? It is not mentoring, and is not a therapy. A professional coach is trained to help you get to where you want to be. If someone tells you what to do, it is not as meaningful as coming up with the solutions yourself. A coach will ask questions and reflect back based on what you have said. They pay attention to the words you say, the way you express yourself and what is not being said to help raise self-awareness, set goals and overcome barriers. It's a powerful tool that is an investment in you and your future. Look out for more posts this week across our socials and feel free to reach out with any questions. #coaching #coacheducation #coachingskills
