Battery Banter – The attached video is of one of the most common battery cell defects that @Waygate is asked to detect and, in some cases, analyze. The video shows inclusions or foreign particles inside a prismatic cell. In this case, these particles are copper, potentially from the slitting process of the cathode. The combined use of a Waygate Technologies CT X-ray and a Thermo Fisher Scientific Scanning Electrode Microscope (SEM) can give you these answers. The world is heading into the age of gate-all-around (GAA) or nanosheet transistors. The new device is opening the door to continuous device scaling. In this study, the quasi-continuous metasurface composed of all-dielectric nanostrips is proposed to simultaneously realize the broadband and high-efficiency advantages. For demonstrating the arbitrary phase manipulation of the quasi-continuous metasurface, two functional devices (normal metalens and SOL) are designed and fabricated. The fabricated quasi-continuous samples can work in a broadband wavelength range and the average efficiencies in the experiment are 54.24% and 48.48% at wavelength range 500−1000 nm.
