Last week, Bacardi released their 2025 Cocktail Trends Report, revealing how cocktail culture is evolving in the UK and around the world! 👀 According to Bacardi’s Trend Report, the Top 5 UK cocktails for 2025 are 🍸 : 1. Gin & Tonic 2. Piña Colada 3. Mojito 4. Rum & Coke® 5. Margarita Commenting on the UK’s top 10 cocktails for 2025, Davide Zanardo, Head of Advocacy for Bacardi in the UK & Ireland, said: “The G&T tops our poll for 2025 so perhaps it’s not surprising it’s now rivalling the cup of tea as the country’s national drink. The love that Brits have for Bombay Sapphire Distillery has made the iconic blue bottle a feature in bars, stores and homes across the UK. “In 2025, the tequila trend will be unstoppable with the Margarita shooting up the rankings of the most popular cocktails in the UK, rising eight places from number 13 in 2024 to fifth in 2025. Agave is what everyone in the industry is talking about and that’s reflected in the demand for ultra-premium tequilas like PATRÓN.” So keep this in mind for the New Year to keep your guests satisfied! ❤️

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒊 Martini is a classic cocktail made with gin and vermouth, typically garnished with an olive or a twist of lemon. The exact origins of the martini are a bit debated, but it's believed to have evolved from a drink called the Martinez, which was popular in the 19th century. Over time, the martini became a symbol of sophistication and class, especially with the iconic "shaken, not stirred" line popularized by James Bond. It's a timeless drink that has definitely made its mark in cocktail culture! The olive garnish in a martini is said to have originated during the Prohibition era in the United States? Bartenders would add olives to mask the smell of alcohol in the cocktail, so customers could discreetly enjoy their drinks without drawing too much attention to the fact that they were consuming alcohol. It's a quirky little piece of history tied to this iconic cocktail! There are several famous variations of the classic martini. One popular variation is the "Vodka Martini," which substitutes gin with vodka. Another well-known variation is the "Dirty Martini," which includes olive brine or olive juice, giving the cocktail a slightly salty flavor. Additionally, the "Gibson Martini" is garnished with a pickled onion instead of an olive or lemon twist. 𝙍𝙏𝘿 𝙘𝙤𝙘𝙠𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙨, 𝙧𝙪𝙢, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙖 𝙨𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙨𝙥𝙞𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩: 😎 Ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails, rum and tequila are set to dominate the spirits market, according to new research. A survey of founders of UK independent beverage companies, by rum brand The Duppy Share in collaboration with CGA by NIQ, showed RTD cocktails, in particular, have garnered attention, with 52% of respondents forecasting “fast growth”, the largest across all formats. In terms of spirits, rum and tequila are the only categories that experienced growth in 2023 and are forecast to continue their upward trajectory, according to the companies surveyed, particularly as consumer interest shifts away from gin, which experienced a 14% decrease in sales last year. However, mirroring the trend seen in the US, agave spirits continue to gain momentum. This category saw a 4% increase in sales in 2023. Looking ahead, agave spirits are expected to maintain a steady growth trajectory, with a projected annual growth rate of 2% from 2023 to 2028. This is reflected in rum, showing a 2% growth in 2023, and forecasting a steady growth in the coming years from its larger base volume. Why tequila and tonic was always meant to be. With the gin and tonic trend taking off, I was inspired to create a highball drink with tequila instead. I wanted something refreshing that I could sip on throughout the night. So, I grabbed a bottle of tequila, added a ton of ice, and topped it with tonic. The result? Pure magic. Jose Cuervo Silver with Schweppes tonic—my go-to mix. it’s a match made in highball heaven. So next time, skip the tequila shots and enjoy the slow, steady pleasure of a tequila tonic. Trust me, it’s worth it. While we're on the topic of personal drink preferences, let me share a bit more. My love for spirits started after college when whiskey was out of my budget, fueling my passion for introducing new spirits to India. I have a soft spot for well-crafted cocktails, especially from talented bartenders across India. A Cosmopolitan made with 1800 is a personal favourite that never fails to impress. When I’m not enjoying cocktails, you’ll find me sipping on a Japanese Choya highball or a Cuba Libre made with Viva El Ron, cola, and a twist of lime—just how I like it. When I’m craving red wine, the Australian Metal Label series & Villa Sandi are my top picks. As for whiskey, I lean towards the smooth vibes of Irish over the boldness of Scotch. Classic cocktails like the Old Fashioned and Manhattan are timeless favourites, always in good taste. At the end of the day, I’m all about enjoying #OnlyTheBest. #MonikaAlcobev #TequilaTonic #Cocktails
