Like any good strategy, your #InternalCommunications plan needs a goal and a way to measure success. When asked about how he measures the success of internal communications, MPP John Fraser says, "measure the quality with the quantity of the message that [you] hear back." Simplicity and repetition are 🔑. How does your organization measure the success of its internal comms strategy? ➡️ If you missed our latest Comms In Question: How internal comms can drive external results, catch up here: https://bit.ly/49FcRyE

This one is for the in-house Communicators. You know the ones. They know the business inside and out. They built a great team. They stay on top of all the tools. They know how their beat reporters cover the organization cold. They see something happening that is going to be an issue. They approach management about it, only to be ignored. So they go out and hire an expensive consultant who tells management THE EXACT SAME THING and is a wunderkind genius. Seas part and red carpets are rolled out to implement the recommended changes. To add insult to injury, the in-house Communicator doesn't even get credit for bringing in the consultant... I see you. #pr #communications #communication #business #crisismanagement #crisiscommunication #crisiscommunications

A lot of people want to become an expert, or desire to be recognised as one at the very least. But what does it take to become an expert in the diverse field of Communications and Public Relations? Someone asked a question recently on whether there’s a cheat sheet to becoming an expert in Comms/ PR. The question make me chuckle but it also made me realise that people don’t really understand that expertise takes time. You do have to go through your process and master the core competencies required in the Comms function. I often look back on my career and ask how I ended up here … from journalist, to public relations manager, to internal communications manager. This presentation sums it up perfectly. It makes sense. “Infusing your personal brand into internal comms also radiates outward to executives and helps infuse trust in the brand’s leadership.” If you haven’t read this article yet, take a look. #internalcomms
