Saw this tweet about the impressive similarity of outputs of Sora prompts through Midjourney. I suspect that some of this is due to overlap in training data, possibly from Common Crawl. Regardless, the current Sora capability is so impressive and disruptive. It got me thinking about the data advantages that Google has, particularly in multimodal data. YouTube alone hosts an estimated 156+ million hours of true multimodal data (audio, image/video, and text), with around 271,330 hours of content added to the repository every day. If Sora is this effective on "public" data, I can only imagine what Google's competitor will bring to the table and what the implications are for startups in HC/LS building AI apps on GCP. Exciting times ahead!

What I really like is it’s stepped well so the access is such that even a teacher with 0 tech knowledge can see the path of learning. Automated code reviews using AI? In the future, if your senior devs or team leads are just too busy, you could simply pass your code for reviews using Patched (YC S24). After which, you could also scan your code for any vulnerabilities using Codacy directly without any uplifting like the old school Sonarqube. Excited to announce that my team and I have submitted our project, Sixth Sense, to the Google Solutions Challenges 2024! 🎉 In this project, we aimed to tackle the challenges faced by visually impaired individuals. Sixth Sense focuses on three main areas: navigation capability, environmental awareness, and facilitating access to assistance. The system uses a mobile app interface, hardware components, and a cloud-based server to provide features like: Speech-to-speech conversion to describe surroundings. 💬 Audible warnings about nearby objects to prevent accidents. ⚠️ Navigation guidance with step-by-step instructions. 🧭 Real-time location updates for caregivers.🙍♂️ Ability to send messages or distress alerts with location. 🚩 💻Here's how our project leverages technology to achieve these goals: Local Computation on Raspberry Pi 5: We leveraged the power of a Raspberry Pi 5 for local computation tasks. This allowed us to perform speech-to-speech conversion, object detection, and distance calculation using computer vision models directly on the device, minimizing latency. AI Assistant with Gemini Pro: To further enhance the project's capabilities, we integrated Gemini Pro, an AI assistant that provided invaluable assistance throughout the development process. A big shoutout to my teammates kishore V. G, Daniel Das K and Aswin JD for their immense contribution to this project.
