We analyzed 332 Kubernetes job descriptions for the first three months of 2024 and found that: 💰 The average Kubernetes job pays from $147,203 to $205,149 in North America and from €58,691 to €78,161 in Europe. 👵 The majority of the job listings are for Senior Engineers. 🎟️ Certifications are not necessary unless you need to work with AWS. 🐍 If you need to learn a programming language, invest in Python! Kubernetes Karpenter Autoscaler is actually serving me right. It was a best decision I made moving away from "cluster autoscaler" to karpenter for almost 18 months now. I have a mix of different nodepools in my cluster for various workloads. GPU nodes based off AWS g4dn,p3 and p2 GPU instances, amd64 instances and arm64 processors. I have recently embarked on a journey to build all my microservices to run on arm with docker buildx--to build all container images to run on cross platform. ARM64-base nodes are actually low-cost, high performance gain compute instances. With the AWS Gravition3 ARM-based processors. I have been running most of my workloads on graviton3 in recent time, RDS, OpenSearch,In-memory DB with Elasticache for Redis and EC2 nodepools, Graviton3 offers high-performance gains at low-cost for compute-intensive workloads. I have experimented with different hardware architectures and I can say ARM-based processors actually add more compute-optimised performance gains to your workloads. #cloudengineering #cloudcomputing #cloudnative #softwarengineering #softwarearchitecture #awscloud #coding #programming

What is Terraform? Terraform is a tool for building, changing, and versioning infrastructure safely and efficiently. Terraform can manage existing, popular service providers and custom in-house solutions. Configuration files describe to Terraform the components needed to run a single application or your entire data center. Terraform generates an execution plan describing what it will do to reach the desired state, and then executes it to build the described infrastructure. As the configuration changes, Terraform can determine what changed and create incremental execution plans that can be applied. The infrastructure Terraform can manage includes both low-level components such as compute instances, storage, and networking, and high-level components such as DNS entries and SaaS features. Key features Infrastructure as code Infrastructure is described using a high-level configuration syntax. This allows a blueprint of your data center to be versioned and treated as you would any other code. Additionally, infrastructure can be shared and re-used. Execution plans Terraform has a planning step in which it generates an execution plan. The execution plan shows what Terraform will do when you execute the apply command. This lets you avoid any surprises when Terraform manipulates infrastructure. Resource graph Terraform builds a graph of all your resources and parallelizes the creation and modification of any non-dependent resources. Because of this, Terraform builds infrastructure as efficiently as possible, and operators get insight into dependencies in their infrastructure. Change automation Complex change sets can be applied to your infrastructure with minimal human interaction.
