Below are 3 deal insights on Long Haul Management Inc’s sale to Wasserman. It's an M&A deal where our RockWater team acted as sell-side advisor. 🤝 I first met the founder and owner of Long Haul, Dan Levitt, back in 2012 when we were both working at an early YouTube MCN. We stayed close since then, often discussing M&A market dynamics in influencer marketing and talent representation. Once Dan's business hit the right KPIs, and his seller goals were clear and aligned with the capital markets, he was then well setup to find a good strategic partner. 🧑💻 Our Long Haul and RockWater teams started prepping for the sale back in 2023. Sometimes M&A goes quick, sometimes it takes a while. I love thinking about the evolving role of partnerships in go-to-market strategies. Is it about promoting a Chief Partnership Officer (CPO), or is it more about validating the substantial contributions of partnerships to go-to-market? I think it's not an either/or scenario. There's a famous quote (and pardon my paraphrase) about not just telling someone to yearn for the sea but also recruiting the sailors ready to navigate it. That's what we're doing in partnerships. We're selling a vision of what the partner leader role could be, inspiring a new generation. At the same time, we're grounding them in reality: to succeed, you need tangible results, aligned KPIs. Let's champion the dual paths of inspiration and practical execution in partnerships. We need to support those who inspire, and equally, those who teach the nuts and bolts of the job.

Building a new function at a company require versatility, adaptability, and wearing multiple hats As we are building at Pipedream, today I found myself: - Reviewing partner feedback calls - Snipping calls and sharing with Product Team - Company all-hands to learn what the rest of the org is doing/building - Conducting prospective partner interviews to learn how they talk about Pipedream and use cases - Planning a new partner content series 👀 - Developing Product Marketing initiatives - Aligning goals with Revenue leadership - Wire mapping Partner website page - Writing website copy These responsible fall across many departments including Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations, and Customer Service This requires Versatility, Adaptability, and strong Time Management to ensure our goals are being achieved Some people prefer large organizations where your role is very specialized To me, there is nothing more rewarding than feeling a sense of ownership, and seeing the direct impact of these diverse efforts on the company's success working cross-functionally What are you most proud of in your work?
