Managing your NDIS plan can be overwhelming, but with the right strategies, you can stay on track and make the most of your support. Here are some tips to help: • Stay Organized: Keep all your NDIS documents, receipts, and invoices in one place. Consider using a digital or physical folder for easy access. • Set Goals: Clearly outline your short-term and long-term goals. This will help you stay focused and ensure that your plan aligns with your aspirations. • Track Spending: Regularly monitor your spending to make sure you’re staying within your budget. Use apps or spreadsheets to keep track of your expenses. • Communicate: Maintain open communication with your support coordinator and service providers. Keep them informed about any changes in your needs or circumstances. • Review Regularly: Schedule regular reviews of your plan to assess your progress and make any necessary adjustments. • Seek Help: Don’t hesitate to ask for help if you’re feeling overwhelmed. Support coordinators, plan managers, and advocacy services can provide valuable assistance. With these tips, you can take control of your NDIS plan and achieve your goals. #NDISPlanManagement #AreteCare

The new 12-month NDIS plans are here - this is what it means for you! The NDIS is introducing major changes: all plans will now be limited to a 12-month funding period. While longer plans (2, 3, or even 5 years) may become available once the PACE system is fully updated, funding will still be capped at 12 months at a time. Here’s what this means: For longer plans, only one year’s worth of funding will be accessible at a time. Unused funds will roll over into the following year. Capital budgets remain unaffected, ensuring that essential equipment purchases can still be made upfront. Shorter funding periods (like 1, 3, or 6 months) may also become an option down the line. These changes demand a more strategic and organized approach to plan management. How to Prepare for These Changes: 1️. Document everything: Start gathering reports, invoices, and provider feedback now. Clear evidence is non-negotiable for securing your funding. 2️. Set clear goals: Make sure your goals are practical and easy to explain. The clearer your objectives, the stronger your case for funding. 3️. Work closely with providers: Don’t assume your providers know what you need—talk to them, plan together, and ensure they’re ready to support your case. 4️. Get expert help: Don’t go it alone. A good plan manager or support coordinator can be the difference between success and setbacks. If you’re not prepared, you could face significant disruptions in your funding and supports. The 12-month cap allows no room for error or delays. Without the right evidence and planning, critical services may be delayed or even denied. This update requires participants to take a more proactive role in managing their plans to avoid unnecessary challenges and ensure consistent access to essential support. #ndis #ndisplans #disabilitysupport #planmanagement #ndischanges #inclusivesupport

Managing an NDIS plan isn’t just about accessing the right supports; it’s also about making every dollar stretch to cover needs... ...and doing so *without* the stress. 👈 THIS, is what I want to talk to you about today. First things first: In order to get (and stay) on top of your budget, really get to know your plan. I mean *really* know it. Not just the big picture stuff, but exactly what each category covers. Can your core supports funding cover that training session? Could that equipment come from your AT budget? Knowing these details puts you in control and stops money being left on the table. Here's a practical tip that also works well: Break your funding into monthly chunks. If you've got $24,000 for therapy, that's roughly $2,000 a month. Having these clear numbers stops that nerve-racking, last-minute rush when funds run low. Plus, it makes it way easier to know if you can afford to increase your sessions or need to pull back a bit. Track everything – and I mean *everything*. Those small transport costs, the one-off equipment purchases, every therapy session. You don't need fancy software, although it does help, but a simple spreadsheet or even a notebook works fine. The key is making it a habit. Think of it like checking your phone – quick, regular, and just part of your routine. Do a proper check-in every few months. Look at what's working and what's not. Maybe you're spending less on transport than you thought but your therapy costs are creeping up. Great – now you can adjust before it becomes a problem. And finally, don't be afraid to get help. NDIS funding is complex – that's just the truth. Plan managers and financial professionals who know the NDIS inside out can spot opportunities you might miss and help you avoid common pitfalls. If you need help making sense of your funding, let's talk. 🤓 Sometimes a fresh set of eyes is all it takes to turn a challenging plan into one that really works for you. #NDIS #NDISparticipants #budgetingtips #NDISsupport #MayAndTayConsulting

Navigating your NDIS plan can be overwhelming, but understanding the three main funding types can make it easier: 🔹 Core supports: These are essential for your daily life and cover things like personal care, household tasks, and community participation. 🔹 Capital supports: This funding is for more significant, one-time investments and includes things like assistive technology and modifications to your home or vehicle. 🔹 Capacity-building supports: These supports are all about helping you build skills and independence. They may include training, therapy, or support to help you achieve your personal goals. 📲 Stay tuned and follow us for more tips and explanations about the NDIS and plan management! #NDISSupportCategories #SupportCoordination #PlanManagement

The system is broken! Right now the NDIS is a very broken system causing a lot of stress for almost every person involved in it. The past 3 weeks I have spent listening to people Ruth and NDIS plan, their family members, also providers. In the next Connect & Grow Connectand Grow Magazine will be the full story, however here are some highlights: 🔹Provider payments, delayed some for 3 weeks, some declined. 🔸 Stricter review of participants funding spends. Some people are funding invoices declined and that impacts the provider and the person with a plan. 🔹 NDIS plan reviews taking at the moment st least 6 months, in some cases more. 🔸Many plans funding has been decreased - many reason’s 🔹 Providers running out of funding leaving them without support in some cases for over 6 months. Many providers have chosen to leave the sector after not being pays, their participants requiring less hours and not being able to make ends meet. Many participants are having extreme stress and are questioning it being on NDIS is worth it. Support coordination has been removed from many people plans, leaving them feeling alone I have had meetings with peak bodies who are meeting with NDIA regarding support coordination, so will share more when I can. Right now it is a challenging time and many people who are still in the sector have shared how they are struggling to grow their business… they have asked for more support from me, so I am working on that, will share more soon. Remember to be kind to yourself. Reassess your business. With more providers than people on the scheme and less funding in participants plans it is a challenging time. We know more changes are coming also. Let’s stick together and be as supportive as possible. For point fo reference I get over 60 calls and messages from participants alone a day, PLUS providers… it’s a huge volume for me as one person. Hence the magazine and resources I have developed. #NDIS #supportingeachother #connectandgrowmagazine #supportcoordinators #supportworker

Callout to all NDIS Support Coordinators! Evidence templates to assist in reducing chances of support coordination funding being reduced or eliminated. Hello Sunshine Support Coordination are proud to have developed NDIS Support Coordination skill matrix templates for NDIS support coordinators and allied health practitioners. These skill matrix templates assess participant's and carers ability to coordinate their own supports without a support coordinator. These have helped our company maintain or increase our support coordination funding by providing clear break downs of our role, quantified hours for each role and justification. Of course there are no guarantees what the NDIS decide to fund, but these certainly provide added evidence as we are seeing simple recommendation for ongoing support coordination in allied health reports is no longer enough. Template pack - $30 for: 2x templates with ability to input your own company logo, 2x example templates and instructions on how to use. Email [email protected] for any enquiries and to request an invoice for the template pack.
