Is your remote workplace designed for everyone to succeed? As we’re all trying our hardest to earn money and make a living, assistive technology is more than a convenience—it’s a necessity. Tools like real-time captions, screen readers, voice recognition software, and noise-canceling apps aren’t extras. They’re the difference between a team that struggles and a team that works seamlessly. The demand for assistive technology isn’t just growing—it’s booming. In Australia alone, the market is estimated to be worth over $4 billion, with continued growth predicted as our demographic shifts. This isn’t just about inclusion; it’s about meeting the future head-on. Why? Because accessibility in remote work benefits everyone. Think about it: - A parent balancing work in a noisy home. - Someone recovering from an injury who relies on voice commands. - A teammate experiencing eye strain who needs easier screen adjustments. These tools break down barriers, improve focus, and enable better collaboration—making work better for everyone. Here’s what happens when you prioritise accessibility: - Teams work smarter and faster. - You attract and retain top talent who value inclusion. - You build a culture where everyone feels seen, supported, and able to contribute. And cost? That excuse doesn’t hold up. Most assistive tools are free or affordable. Accessibility isn’t a burden—it’s a clear business advantage. An accessible remote workplace is a complete workplace—where everyone can contribute and succeed. What’s one change you can make today to ensure your remote workplace works for everyone? #disabilityequipments #disabilityaids #assistivetechnology #disabilitysupport #assistivedevices #cwuassistivetech #carewithusassistivetechhub #carewithusassistivetechhubaustralia

Did you know over 2.2 million Australians with disabilities struggle to use public transport? While cities like Sydney and Melbourne have made progress with accessible buses, trams, and train stations, many regional areas are still left behind. Even in cities, gaps in the system—like an accessible bus leading to a train station with no lift—are far too common. Accessible transport is essential, not optional. It’s time to address these issues and create a system that works for all Australians. Common struggles of using public transport with assistive technology: No real-time information: Navigation apps don’t show live updates about delays, disruptions, or whether buses and trains have space for wheelchairs or other assistive devices. Old and outdated systems: Regional areas often have transport systems that can’t support modern tools like automated ramps or smart wheelchairs. Transport staff not trained: Many staff don’t know how to use wheelchair lifts or help passengers with other assistive technology. Broken connections: A bus might be wheelchair-friendly, but the train station it connects to could have no elevator or unsafe gaps. Accessible transport means freedom for everyone. By fixing these challenges, we can make sure public transport works for all Australians, no matter where they live or what they need. Let’s work towards a transport system that makes travel easier and more inclusive for everyone. Small changes can make a big difference. #disabilityequipments #disabilityaids #assistivetechnology #disabilitysupport #assistivedevices #cwuassistivetech #carewithusassistivetechhub #carewithusassistivetechhubaustralia

Why is flying with mobility aid batteries still so hard? If you’re a wheelchair or mobility scooter user, you’ve probably faced the challenge: complex rules, confusing requirements, and a process that can feel overwhelming. Yes, most airlines allow AGM, Gel, and Lithium batteries, but getting approval takes a lot of effort. Here’s what you need to know: 1. Pre-approval is required—expect detailed paperwork. 2. Certifications, battery specs, and test reports are essential. 3. Every airline and country may have different rules, so preparation is key. Mobility isn’t a privilege—it’s a basic right. Airlines have made progress, but there’s more work to be done to make flying accessible for everyone. #reforms #ndissta #respite #NDIS #disabilitysupport #inclusion #communitycare

The new 12-month NDIS plans are here - this is what it means for you! The NDIS is introducing major changes: all plans will now be limited to a 12-month funding period. While longer plans (2, 3, or even 5 years) may become available once the PACE system is fully updated, funding will still be capped at 12 months at a time. Here’s what this means: For longer plans, only one year’s worth of funding will be accessible at a time. Unused funds will roll over into the following year. Capital budgets remain unaffected, ensuring that essential equipment purchases can still be made upfront. Shorter funding periods (like 1, 3, or 6 months) may also become an option down the line. These changes demand a more strategic and organized approach to plan management. How to Prepare for These Changes: 1️. Document everything: Start gathering reports, invoices, and provider feedback now. Clear evidence is non-negotiable for securing your funding. 2️. Set clear goals: Make sure your goals are practical and easy to explain. The clearer your objectives, the stronger your case for funding. 3️. Work closely with providers: Don’t assume your providers know what you need—talk to them, plan together, and ensure they’re ready to support your case. 4️. Get expert help: Don’t go it alone. A good plan manager or support coordinator can be the difference between success and setbacks. If you’re not prepared, you could face significant disruptions in your funding and supports. The 12-month cap allows no room for error or delays. Without the right evidence and planning, critical services may be delayed or even denied. This update requires participants to take a more proactive role in managing their plans to avoid unnecessary challenges and ensure consistent access to essential support. #ndis #ndisplans #disabilitysupport #planmanagement #ndischanges #inclusivesupport

Affected by the new NDIS rules? Here's what to do if you no longer qualify The new NDIS eligibility rules, which were effective from October 3rd, 2024, are already having a big effect. And these new rules leave people wondering "What to do if you no longer qualify?" These changes highlight a reality: eligibility criteria may change, but the needs of individuals don’t simply disappear. For many, the NDIS isn’t just a program—it’s a lifeline. Losing access to NDIS support can be a big adjustment, but there are still options out there to help you get the support you need. Here are key pathways to explore: 1. Continuity of Support: Individuals who can no longer access the NDIS could also qualify for other programs like the Commonwealth Continuity of Support (CoS) Programme, which provides services to individuals who no longer have access to NDIS services. 2. Alternative Support Options: Those who are ineligible for the NDIS are usually taken care of by state-funded systems, including aged care and social work programs. You can check the NDIS site for other details and contacts. 3. Right to Appeal: If you think the decision does not reflect your situation, you can always ask for a review. Disability organisations can provide the necessary assistance to go through this process. 4. Plan for the Future: You can also seek help from support coordinators or nearby services to create plans that align with your available resources. The truth is, no one should be deprived of any essential support in any given circumstance. If all of these changes affected you, this is the moment to stand up for yourself, to demand better, and to work towards a system that will not leave anyone behind. #reforms #ndissta #respite #NDIS #disabilitysupport #inclusion #communitycare

Every day, we look at the strength and bravery in the face of life that our NDIS participants encounter. I believe they deserve time to step back and reflect, take a deep breath, and enjoy little moments of rest just for them. With capacity building and compassionate support, CARE WITH US's duty is to allow our participants to take respite—for them to breathe, to recharge, and to feel they belong. And everyone has a right to focus on well-being and self-care as they travel their own journey Let's give time for them to bloom again by recognizing their resilience. #australia #carewithus #cwu #cwucapacitybuildingactivities #disability #learning #melbourne #ndis #ndisparticipant #ndisrespite #ndissta #ndisshorttermaccommodation #respite #shorttermaccommodation #standis #victoria

Sometimes, even after creating a safe space for myself and the people around me, at this age, I have to remind myself of the difference between good touch and bad touch. If you feel that someone needs to read this, be it your friends and family, clients, business partners, or anyone around you, share along. #ndis #ndis #disabilitysupport #carewithus #cwu #sta #respite #ndissta #ndisrespite #shorttermaccommodation

The NDIA is constantly introducing new changes to the NDIA STA/Respite services. Though there is no change to the NDIS STA/Respite legislation, there are certainly a lot of changes around who is accessing and who is providing the NDIS STA/Respite Services. As the Core Budget remains flexible to access the NDIS STA/Respite Services, the reasons to use NDIS STA/Respite are strict: 1. gives NDIS Participants the chance to try new things 2. can be a place to make new friends or develop new skills 3. may help to maintain your current living situation by giving NDIS Participants informal support and a break #australia #carewithus #cwu #cwucapacitybuildingactivities #disability #learning #melbourne #ndis #ndisparticipant #ndisrespite #ndissta #ndisshorttermaccommodation #respite #shorttermaccommodation #standis #victoria

7 million divided into 9 providers for providing International Holidays under NDIS Short-Term Accommodation is shocking. It shows how corrupt the NDIS industry has become, leaving thousands without support. We are here talking about Service Providers, disability advocates and People who knowingly went on these trips. I have encountered many providers contacting us to provide a family trip to 5 family members under one NDIS plan. What do we do? We keep on rejecting them. And get a response that the client wants to go with family and has chosen another provider to allow this. Even tho it is clear now that NDIA is trying their best to STOP this scam. However, disability advocates are still pushing illegal activities through and not giving out correct information to the client. A long time ago, we started talking about the crackdown, and we will keep pushing this forward. If your goals are the same, join us and help improve NDIA. #australia #carewithus #cwu #cwucapacitybuildingactivities #disability #learning #melbourne #ndis #ndisparticipant #ndisrespite #ndissta #ndisshorttermaccommodation #respite #shorttermaccommodation #standis #victoria
