What a week it has been! I headed off to Melbourne on Tuesday and spent the evening collaborating with Blake Thomson and Sachin Nischal from Xeople and Entire OnHire. We discussed potential solutions for one of the biggest tech issues faced by recruiters — stay tuned for updates on this one! Wednesday was packed with meetings that opened up new opportunities, followed by a dinner hosted by TALiNT Partners. The event, "Elevate: Strategic Insights for Staffing & Recruitment Leaders," co-sponsored by Applyflow and Xeople, was fantastic. A big shout out to Kris Clelland and Samantha Stanwell for organising an intimate evening where great connections were formed, and valuable insights were shared among industry leaders. On Thursday morning, I had the privilege of attending and sitting on a panel at the TALiNT Partners Talent & HR Leaders Summit at Collins Square Event Centre. Kudos to Kris Clelland and the TALiNT Partners team for putting on a stellar event and to all industry partners, Applyflow, Avature, Expert360, Allegis Global Solutions, Deel and Xeople. Unfortunately, I had to leave early to catch a flight back to Sydney for my first Vinnies CEO Sleepout. What an eye-opening experience, WOW! As I write this post, my back and hips are sore from sleeping (an hour or so) on concrete last night, yet it feels like nothing compared to the overwhelming homeless epidemic we face in this country. Last night, I heard firsthand stories from amazing people who have fallen on hard times and have needed the support of the incredible team at St Vincent de Paul Society Australia. The work Vinnies does is nothing short of amazing, and the entire experience left me in awe and eager to contribute to the cause, which I plan to do with my family. A special shout out to the team at Our Big Kitchen and Rabbi Dr Dovid Slavin for feeding us last night, the soup was sensational. For those that contributed with donations, THANK YOU it means a lot.
