The #CleanIndustrialDeal is indeed a crucial opportunity for Europe to solidify its position in the global tech race, and I wholeheartedly agree that #HomeAppliances should be at the forefront of this initiative. By prioritising the following actions, the Polish Presidency can leverage this opportunity for the benefit of all industries: - Foster Innovation: Encourage R&D in smart home technologies, energy-efficient appliances, and sustainable manufacturing processes. This can be achieved through targeted funding programs, tax incentives, and public-private partnerships. - Promote Skills Development: Support training and education programs to equip the workforce with the skills needed to design, manufacture, and maintain these advanced appliances. - Streamline Regulations: Ensure that regulations are clear, consistent, and promote innovation rather than stifle it. This will create a level playing field for businesses of all sizes. - Support Consumer Adoption: Implement policies that incentivise consumers to replace old appliances with energy-efficient models. This could include subsidies, tax breaks, or awareness campaigns. By focusing on these areas, the Polish Presidency can help ensure that the Clean Industrial Deal benefits all industries, creates jobs, and strengthens Europe's position as a leader in sustainable technology. This is a chance to create a win-win situation for both the environment and the economy, and it's crucial that we seize it. #CleanIndustrialDeal #EU2025PL #Sustainability #Innovation

To drive real change, Europe needs a fully functional industrial strategy. But this can only happen if we address the challenges holding us back. Our new publication outlines 3-steps to fuel Europe's Industrial Renaissance, as in line with the #DraghiReport: 🔹 Reduce regulatory complexity and strengthen the Single Market 🔹 Lower production costs 🔹 Preserve EU jobs and ensure a competitive global market The home appliance industry is a driving force to the EU economy, contributing €79 billion to the EU's GDP and pivotal to the decarbonisation of Europe, by placing on the EU market top-tier energy-efficient products that lower GHG emissions and reduce costs for consumers. Preserving this industrial excellence in Europe should be a top priority of the new mandate. Take a closer look at our recommendations below 👇

🌏 Along with our partners, CLASP and Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE), we held a side-event at the 36th Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol – the primary international framework on cooling. Our event focused on innovative consumer-side mechanisms to shift markets towards high-efficiency air conditioners. Experts across governments, civil society, industry, and academia shared insights from their experiences in markets such as India, Indonesia, Brazil, and China. ✅Across different countries, policy interventions like bulk procurement, mandatory energy labels, and government-led temperature settings are crucial in driving energy-efficient air conditioner (AC) adoption. ✅Education, such as providing clearer energy consumption data and promoting the long-term savings of high-efficiency units, can help consumers make informed choices, as seen in pilot projects in China and efforts in Brazil and Indonesia. ✅Improving servicing, installation, and training of technicians is key to making efficient cooling solutions more accessible and effective over their lifecycle. Other key takeaways included the role of policy tools such as labels in driving consumer awareness, the importance of expanding financing options for price-conscious customers, and the potential of utility-led initiatives for driving uptake of energy-efficient technology. With the support of the Cadence Design Systems Giving Foundation, CHAI is working with a range of partners to implement such demand-side interventions for sustainable cooling technology in India. Curious what happened at the Powering European Industry event in Sønderborg earlier this week? Watch the wrap up video. During the event, International Energy Agency (IEA), BusinessEurope, Danish Industry and Danfoss brought together industry leaders and policymakers to discuss how to improve European competitiveness at the backdrop of a challenged European Industry and Draghi’s report on European competitiveness. The aim was to develop concrete input and recommendations for the incoming European Commission’s ambition to present a Clean Industrial Deal within its first 100 days. Competitive decarbonization can be a massive source of growth in Europe. We have technologies in place, and we can start already today! And as Danfoss President and CEO, Kim Fausing, said: “You can never underestimate Europe, and I am a stubborn optimist. Competitive decarbonization can be a very strong competitive force for Europe.” To learn more about how competitive decarbonization can drive Europe’s industrial future, download our Impact paper here: https://bit.ly/4f7Cqvk #PoweringEUIndustry #Decarbonization #CompetitiveDecarbonization #IndustrialDecarbonization #DecarbIndustries #Sustainability #CarbonNeutral #EnergyTransition #SustainableFuture #DanfossImpact #EnergyEfficiency #WhyEE

I am so excited and honoured to be at the European Parliament, and be the voice of our customers in the “Opportunity 35” panel, next Monday, under the patronage of MEP Thomas Pellerin-Carlin. 🇪🇺 AVERE - The European Association for Electromobility and ChargeUp Europe, thank you so much for this opportunity. What will I say? 1️⃣ this transition must be inclusive: Encourage Private and Public dialogue to seek understanding of how fragmented, cost-driven and SME rich our industry is, to unlock the right level of subsidies, on a global level. Carbon savings are the new currency, but ALL our customers types must be able to afford it, now. #technologyinclusion 2️⃣build confidence: Harmonisation and continuity of regional and cross-country incentive programs, tax benefits and regulations. Our customers cannot rely on « stop-and-go » policies anymore. #climateinvestments #futureproof 3️⃣ set up Residual Value Funds and Guarantees: We must close the gap between current anxieties and pace/cost of adoption - and, the upcoming mass need for : energy storage and grid balancing for our communities, corporate fleets and logistics flows. But also, grasping the opportunity to set up a lucrative and well regulated second hand market in Europe and Emerging Markets 🤜🤛 👉And to conclude : our sector is experiencing the greatest transition of all times, the most honourable Industrial Revolution in history. We need a European Industrialisation Policy, foresting collaboration and federating all ecosystem players. Public and private. For the greater good. Now. #europe #together

Denmark now tops the recently published index of European countries adopting its infrastructure to meet an electrified future. 1. Denmark 2. Norway 3. Luxembourg Next is electrification of our trucks and transportation sector. What measures can we expect to see and will Denmark top the index when we look in say 3 years..? Will market powers "do the rest" now that a country like Denmark seems to have hit the tipping point? Political steadiness and boldness by our corporate leaders will for sure be needed. #partnerships #electrification #evcharging #zeroemission

🏰 Strasbourg ... 📅 September 2023 ... 🌐 State of the Union Address ... President #vonderLeyen stated that “𝙖𝙨 𝙬𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙣𝙚𝙭𝙩 𝙥𝙝𝙖𝙨𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙀𝙪𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙂𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙡, 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙣𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 ... Any “#GreenDeal #IndustrialPlan” would not be complete without a strong chapter on the electromobilities manufacturing ecosystem. To achieve these goals, we propose a multifaceted approach that considers the value chain’s competitiveness at #360° in green transport solutions while revitalizing their financial support. 📜 Ensuring regulatory stability 🔄 Enhancing value chain competitiveness 💰 Financing the transition in the short term: The “low hanging fruits” 💸 Financing the transition in the long term: Net Zero Investment Plan 🤝 Strengthening international cooperation Such policies must be implemented within a framework of regulatory stability and close international cooperation with other regions.
