Exciting Wrap-up of ACCPA Day 1 Conference! As I strolled back home after a remarkable day at the Aged & Community Care Providers Association conference, memories of my father walking home with bread and a newspaper flash in my mind. But today, instead of carrying bread for my child, I carried something even more valuable—hope for a brighter future. The Agedcare sector has experienced significant transformations in recent times, but today, there was a noticeable shift in the atmosphere—a wave of hope and positivity. The sector echoed discussions on agility, strategic innovation, embracing change, and working towards a better future. I had the privilege of witnessing a phenomenal panel discussion, moderated with grace and expertise by the indomitable Tom Symondson Roald Versteeg Lucy O'Flaherty Richard de Haast Angie Robinson and Arthur Koumoukelis brought their unique perspectives, making it an unforgettable session. The key takeaways from this exceptional gathering revolve around cultivating a culture of adaptability and fostering strategic innovation. It's a call to action for all leaders and professionals in the industry to embrace change, seize opportunities, and propel the Agedcare sector into a brighter and more promising future. As a culture and leadership strategist, I am deeply inspired by the discussions and the collective determination to create positive change. The ACCPA conference has reaffirmed my belief in the incredible potential of this industry. Let's continue to drive this momentum forward, supporting one another, and working together towards a future where quality care and compassion thrive. Together, we can shape the future of Agedcare and make a profound difference in the lives of countless individuals. #ACCPAConference #AgedcareLeadership #StrategicInnovation #EmbracingChange #BetterFuture

It is incredibly exciting to see Selena Gomez's Rare Beauty leading the charge toward inclusivity and accessibility in the beauty industry! 💄✨ Their commitment to making makeup more user-friendly for individuals with fine motor impairments is truly commendable. As an occupational therapy doctoral student, who engages in the occupation (what OTs refer to as an "ADL", or activity of daily living) of makeup application and removal, I'm passionate about advocating for products that recognize the importance of makeup for everyone who wears it - as it is a meaningful form of self-expression and empowerment! By prioritizing inclusivity, Rare Beauty is not only setting a powerful example but also paving the way for other companies to follow suit in their product development. This meaningful change signifies a shift towards a more inclusive beauty community where all makeup lovers feel seen, valued, and empowered. Here's to more companies embracing this ethos and creating products that cater to diverse needs. Let's continue championing inclusivity and accessibility in all aspects of our lives! #InclusiveBeauty #AccessibilityMatters #RareBeauty
We’re proud to be founded on inclusivity, and we’re expanding our definition with the Made Accessible Initiative. Because of her personal experience, Selena has always been drawn to packaging that’s easy to open and close, hold, and apply. When we started hearing your feedback about how accessible *you* find our products, we wanted to know more. We partnered with the Casa Colina Research Institute (CCRI), part of Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare, to identify features that make our products easy to open and close, hold, or apply for individuals with dexterity issues. Since then, seven products have aligned with our Made Accessible Initiative. And this is only the beginning! We’re so grateful to our community for pushing this conversation and inspiring this program. This is makeup made to feel good in—and to feel good using. About Casa Colina: Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare is a nonprofit provider of specialized medical and rehabilitative care for people with disabling conditions resulting from accidents, disease, or illness. CCRI brings together doctors, scientists, and other rehabilitation professionals who conduct basic, translational, and clinical research, striving to transform scientific advances into improved patient care and outcomes. Confession time - I'm afraid I used to roll my eyes at phrases like "systems change". To me phases like this sometimes sound more like buzzwords than concrete action, but actually for us at International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB) and the #2030inSight strategy it's about "ending avoidable sight loss by 2030" - now that's a concrete goal we can all get behind! The new IAPB Young Systems Leader Awards is offering early-career eye health professionals a chance to be part of making this strategic change happen - no jargon required, just a passion for making a difference! Here's how it works: - Forget siloed working, think big picture. This award recognises those who break down barriers and collaborate across sectors. - Don't be afraid to experiment! It's those who are trying new things, learning from failures, and planning for the future that will be celebrated. - Sharpen your skills and network with the best. Winners get exclusive access to workshops, events, and mentorship. Think you know someone who has got what it takes? - Are they under 35, work in eye health and for an IAPB member? ✅ - Are they changemaker as well as a problem solver? 🤔 - Can they ditch the jargon and join a movement with real impact? 🚮 Nominate a passionate colleague by March 4th! Details and nomination form on the IAPB website - https://lnkd.in/eXYbPhVz Let's show the world that young eye health professionals are leading the way to a brighter future for all!
We're thrilled to announce the launch of the Young Systems Leader Awards, a new initiative aimed at empowering early-career professionals driving transformative change in eye health. This award celebrates "Systems Thinkers" – young professionals shifting the paradigm to tackle avoidable sight loss. With our ambitious 2030 In Sight Strategy at its core, this initiative aims to integrate eye care seamlessly within health systems, shaping a brighter future for all. “The IAPB Young Systems Leader Awards celebrates the brilliance, enthusiasm, and collaborative spirit that will define the future of eye health and change the lives of so many for the better. By investing in these inspiring young professionals IAPB wants to empower them to champion systems change and ensure everyone, everywhere has access to quality eye care." - Caroline Casey, IAPB President. The World EBHC Day 2024 campaign, ‘Health and Beyond: from Evidence to Action’ aims to examine how the global evidence community can foster and embed equity within and across evidence ecosystems to advance global health equity. Our planet is reaching its social, economic, and ecological limits. Climate crises and ecological disasters, political conflict, global inflation/cost of living, and a pandemic, among other things, challenge the emerging responses for health and the healthcare goals of communities, countries, and global institutions. They are also challenging us to do better. Within the context of a polycrisis, the current global discourse related to evidencebased healthcare is being shaped by a recognition that we need greater intersectoral action ‘beyond health’. World EBHC Day in 2024 focuses on the need for greater intersectoral action beyond health to meet the challenges of a polycrisis, and taking action across the evidence ecosystem to build momentum to move from a confluence of crises to a confluence of change. Share your experiences, contribute your knowledge, and join the campaign! There are many ways you can participate and celebrate #WorldEBHCDay. Sharing my views on key Plenary Session featuring Rt. Hon. Wes Streeting MP speech RCGP Annual Conference and Exhibition #rcgpac Firstly proud to see Sheffield GP and friend Andy Hilton, sharing the stage, and one of the 4 GPs selected to illustrate innovative and embitious work already happening in primary care. They illustrated how much GPs care about the responsibilities they have, and above all want to create health creating opportunities for all. But to focus on Wes. So often you listen to politicians and they say nothing really. They professionally navigate tricky issues, giving answers they think most popular with their audience. At least that's what we've been used to lately. It was refreshing to feel like we were listening to someone who is prepared to acknowledge and take on the tough issues ahead of us in the NHS. Key take homes for me, he recognises: -Primary Care offers the best value in the NHS, and its savvy to protect teams and invest here. - Benefits of working in communities (neighbourhoods) and of horizontal integration between specialists and generalist teams, with equal parity. -Needing transparent and inclusive decision making about trade offs between investing in health services, and tackling wider determinants of health. -He is committed to listening, and having robust debate.....his previous swipe at partnership model was a deliberate provocation to stimulate engagement around contentious issues. I felt optimistic. He spoke like he deeply understands the nuances of our health challenges. We were reminded he spent much of his pre MP life in leadership roles in voluntary sector. Only one backward reference to Tory legacy, much more forward looking to how we collaborate as teams to properly build for the longterm. This feels to me like brave leadership, with moral intent.

An idea I learned from The Chief of Staff Association is that your team is *everyone* you need to get your shared job done. At the 13th GDHP Summit, I kept thinking how much the attendees felt like one big team - a team spanning many countries, roles, and areas of #DigitalHealth expertise. Most of my takeaways from this summit start with “inter-“… Interconnectedness Interdisciplinarity Interchanges Interrelationships …and yes, “interoperability.” 😉 It was wonderful to… 📝Learn from others’ approaches to challenges (I sketched a LOT of frameworks and had a LOT of thought provoking conversations!). 🧑🏼💻Gather feedback on our Clinical and Human Engagement Digital Health Literacy Resource (our work stream generated a LOT of exciting ideas!). ✨ Work alongside and build relationships with people who inspire me a LOT! Thank you to the hosts and organizers for your hard work and hospitality! Can’t wait to dive into the next phase of work. 🚀 Global Digital Health Partnership (GDHP) Bundesministerium für Soziales, Gesundheit, Pflege und Konsumentenschutz
