“I had the pleasure of working with Richard while he was leading The Salvation Army Aged Care. Richard is agile commercial strategic leader who successfully balances delivering exceptional sustainable financial results whilst focusing on customer service, people and quality. Richard has a lot of great qualities as leader. He has the ability to genuinely connect with all people, engage stakeholders and bring people together on a shared vision, He empowers people and holds them accountable. He has an amazing work ethic and extremely dedicated to the business and people to make a difference and for everyone to succeed. The Equity Honey Pot - Incentivising Expatriate Kiwis to return to New Zealand

The report explored the potential convergence of two demographic trends - the first being the baby boomers and the second being the high proportion of New Zealand citizens who live offshore. This convergence presents itself in the opportunity created by the cohort of baby boomer business owners who, with the onset of age and the desire to crystallise the value in their business to enjoy their retirement, will seek to exit their businesses in the next five years and whether or not expatriate New Zealanders would return to the country to purchase these businesses.
The report concluded that the existence of such a fund would positively influence expatriates to return to New Zealand. A number of these individuals had previously decided not to return to the country and the fund would thereby create a windfall gain to the country of highly skilled individuals with equity to invest in purchasing businesses. -
