As we take in the beauty of Central Park’s fall foliage (that is still there!) , we’re reminded of how things change over time—just like the reputation of PR. Ironically, despite the fact that PR is all about shaping and improving perceptions, it doesn’t always get the best reputation - especially when it comes to ethics. Some even link it to propaganda. But here's the key difference: PR, at its core, is grounded in truth. It's about sharing REAL stories, based on facts, and standing for what’s right. Just like the leaves in the park, PR can go through seasons of change. If done correctly, it helps build trust, inspire action and make a positive impact. #PublicRelations #EthicsInPR #PR #PRFirm

"The history of PR is… a history of a battle for what is reality and how people will see and understand reality.” —STUART EWEN PR is about narrative. It’s about context. PR is not about the bullsh*t we’ve been led to believe it is… Truth is, there are millions of ways to see any one event. As many perspectives as there are people. But which perspective a group decides is the REAL story is up for debate. That’s where we step in. Done well, PR is your ticket to controlling the narrative in the court of public opinion. It can aid every media channel that you operate on. Not only that, but it can turn good times into GREAT times for your company. And turn crises into opportunity.

PR is a long game. Yes it’s possible to press send on a press release and get a few hits, but to really see impact you need to be creating a brand profile, building relationships with journalists, and showcasing what makes you and your viewpoints newsworthy. And agencies should be honest with you about this. It's like dating. If someone comes to you promising the earth overnight, they may be fun, but not someone who’s a keeper. But if someone wants to be by your side for a while, good and bad, helping you grow and create something bigger and better, they’re ones to stick with. Choose wisely! #PR #Growth #BusinessPR

Discussion is great, but at some point a decision on a course of action must be made. Your PR team is only valuable when it is working for you with a clear mandate. Just because something is discussed, doesn’t mean it has been decided. Create a plan and start it. That’s where you create value. That’s where you find success. That’s where PR can take you. #yeahthatgreenville #youcangreenville #completepr #prtips

It's mad how the PR industry loves to critique the work of others, often without full context. Even at Here Be Dragons, we've been guilty of this. 🎬 Watch this video for a candid reflection on why we should avoid jumping to conclusions, be more supportive, and understand the broader context. #BacktotheBasics How a long-standing relationship with media helps you to mitigate a crisis? When a company regularly communicates with the media and its stakeholders, it becomes easier to control its story during a crisis. Journalists and the public are already familiar with the company’s values, practices, and mission. This pre-established foundation helps organizations navigate difficult situations with a degree of goodwill and understanding. PR is not just about reacting to bad press; it’s about building relationships, managing communication channels, and positioning a brand in a way that earns trust and credibility. #publicrelations, #pr
