Changing Beverage Preferences in Europe 2015 vs. 1990: In general, beer is growing, notably in Russia (in lieu of spirits) and Spain (in lieu of wine). Scandinavia (and Germany & Benelux) is moving toward wine; Caucasus moving from wine to spirits?

An awful lot of reasons for the significant drop in wine consumption per capita but will anyone from the wine industry look at this and realize that something needs to change? It’s not that people around the world aren’t consuming alcohol, it is almost nothing is being done to promote wine. Watch any sporting event and you will bound to see at least beer commercials. Thumb through any upscale magazine and you’ll see advertisements for different kinds of spirits. You almost never see anything for wine. Most of the beer companies and spirits manufacturers have huge revenues. Buy almost any beer or spirits bottle today and again in 5 years and it will always taste the same but high quality wine not so. Clear and deliberate action is needed by the wine industry!

This makes it seem like wine consumption has decreased but realitynis that volume and value have increased worldwide. Also, Asia and África continue to be the frontier markets for alcohol and wine will be on the rise soon. Us brewers need to be on the look for huge changes in the need future. From supply chain to health consciousness and wellbeing, alcoholic beverages will require an evolution towards the 22nd century. It’s never too soon.

No crazy deep dive is needed. Very smart business move by Ryan Reynolds once again, to leverage the Wrexham brand to launch a new complimentary venture. My predictions: - Wrexham Lager is marketed and eventually becomes the go-to drink for all the US English football fans - They launch a nonalcoholic/low alc version - Diageo invests in the business in 2-3 years time #celebrityinvestment #football #businessventures #investement
It’s a Thanksgiving Eve Miracle. Welcome to Wrexham Lager, now available in the US. Find it where wine, beer, and more are totally sold.

4moInteresting. US commentators are often obsessed with finding domestic explanations for the problems their industry is going through. I don't see many (any) references to the fact that export revenues seem to be back were they were 14 years ago. And falling. More DTC may help, but getting rid of the 3-tier-system isn't going to solve this...
