Mark Stenberg put together a great recap of what's happening in the affiliate world right now: https://lnkd.in/g_M3sdtu Traffic for the product reviews sections on Forbes, CNN, Time, WSJ, and Fortune are all down by massive amounts. Some of these programs have been completely nuked (like Time Stamped). But others (like Forbes) are still holding on to a lot of their big money terms. So while traffic is down, the impact to revenue could be muted. When I check rankings on a few terms that I watch, Forbes is still holding strong. With affiliate revenue, all the money gets made on a few select pages. If those pages rank well, the money keeps flowing. Even if massive sections of your site get buried in Google. What's next? Who knows. Google's Nov Core Update launched yesterday so it's anyone's guess on where we go from here.

🚨 Are you aware of the hidden risks in your affiliate marketing content? When drafting your affiliate marketing agreements, setting clear content standards and defining advertiser responsibilities is crucial. Here’s why. 🔸Content standards & Advertiser responsibilities. Advertisers often provide publishers with various ad materials—text, banners, pop-ups, and more. If the publisher develops these materials, ensure your agreement includes a clause that requires advertisers to use them exclusively within your campaigns. 🔸 Avoid liability for Advertiser content. Make sure your contract excludes publisher liability for ad materials or content provided by the advertiser. Publishers should only be accountable for content they create themselves. 🔸Compliance & Rejection rights. Ad materials must adhere to community standards and legal requirements. The advertiser is responsible for ensuring compliance with laws and platform policies. Your agreement should grant you the right to reject or cancel any materials that violate these standards. 🔸Notice of changes. Ensure that the advertiser agrees to provide at least five business days' notice for any changes to ad materials, creatives, payouts, or other content. This allows you to adjust or cancel campaigns as needed. Protect your business from potential pitfalls by incorporating these best practices into your affiliate marketing agreements! #StalirovCoBlog #itlawyer #stalirovco #affiliatemarketing
