AEO (Association for Enterprise Opportunity)’s Post

While today marks the last 2 days of #NationalSmallBusinessWeek 2024, AEO and our partners in the small business ecosystem know that small business week happens 52 times in a year! Over the coming weeks, stay tuned for more recaps from yesterday's "Leveraging Regionalism to Empower Small Businesses" Summit, fact sheets like the "Small Business Facts" sheet (https://lnkd.in/e4k6axVh), data highlights, report launches and more. Check out the thoughtful video remarks from Sens Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen from Maryland at the President's and CEO Welcome Reception: Senator Ben Cardin: https://lnkd.in/e3HJy6SR Senator Chris Van Hollen: https://lnkd.in/eif5UaKd Big thank you to Communities Unlimited and Plink and the Renaissance Economic Development Corporation for their generous sponsorship of the reception. We'd like to leave you with the amazing small business leader Corinne Goble, CEO of the Association of Women's Business Centers, who while speaking at the President's and CEO Welcome Reception compared new AEO President and CEO, Natalie Madeira Cofield , and today's dynamic small business environment to a "Captain steering ship during tumultuous times." Then reminded everyone that, "[Cofield] had a 1.2 trillion dollar funding budget at the SBA and was responsible for funding the largest expansion of the Women’s Business Center network in the history of SBA." Gable closed out her remarks sharing how delighted she was that AEO saw Natalie’s fierce talent and could not wait to see what she can do at the organization. Not only was yesterday was a day of amazing talks from SMEs and other ecosystem leaders but the beginning of a #newera at AEO. #RegionalCouncilsSummit #NationalSmallBusinessWeek #smallbiz #economicdevelopment #innovation #entrepreneurship
