Visiting KIIT - Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology #Bhubaneswar recently was a reminder of how much the landscape of education is shifting—and in all the right ways. This wasn’t just another college visit; it was a glimpse into how academic spaces are starting to nurture more than just grades. They’re building the next generation of thinkers, creators, and job-makers. I was welcomed with open arms by the student organizers, Anurag Prasoon and Eshan Modh whose energy set the tone for an incredible experience. The campus itself is impressive, but it was the ethos of innovation and entrepreneurship within its walls that truly caught my attention. KIIT’s entrepreneurial spirit, embodied by the FED KIIT society, supports students as they explore big ideas, dive into real-world projects, and even launch their own startups while still in college. Meeting a former student-turned-entrepreneur who’d already built and sold a startup before graduation was eye-opening. In an era where most colleges focus on preparing students to secure jobs, KIIT is focusing on empowering students to create jobs. This kind of environment fosters a mindset where innovation is encouraged, where risk-taking is a part of learning, and where students are backed by mentors who’ve been through the journey themselves. Throughout my talk, the enthusiasm from the students was palpable. The questions they asked, the stories they shared, and the eagerness to learn more about building something from scratch made it clear—they’re not just here to get a degree; they’re here to make a difference. FED-KIIT alone receives over 900 applications annually, showing how much students are drawn to an environment that promises more than just traditional education. As I left Bhubaneswar, I felt a renewed optimism for the future. Seeing universities like KIIT actively nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs gives me hope. These aren’t just students who’ll go on to work in established companies; they’re the future job creators, the ones who will shape industries, communities, and economies. Thank you, KIIT and FED-KIIT, for giving me a glimpse into the future of education.
