🎧 I am so grateful to have game changers in my network who call things for what they are and share feedback and insights with a generosity and genuine appetite to help others grow. Across the company, industry and stakeholders. Who are your allies? 💬 HR has been under-invested in for a long time, yet Executive want HR to be more strategic. They wouldn't expect that of other functions they have cut budget for. 💬 Business, strategic and financial acumen is critical for leaders, and also for HR if they want credibility with Exec. 💬 HR needs to know how we make money/profit, who our customers are and how the people function helps the organisation to be successful (business and financial goals). 💬 We can’t be too busy to be strategic, network and get involved in the business. It’s critical for HR to make the time to be relevant. 💬 What’s the 'file' people have on you, in their head (from 10 years or roles ago…). Are you frozen in time? .... and much much MORE! Does your employer operate in uncertain markets? Then you'd better assess if your employer's leadership is embracing uncertainty. Why? Uncertainty is inevitable. Check if your leadership is consciously organizing: 👨🎓 information processing in a fast, furious, frequent way and include every person in and within the context of the company, far beyond the board room's limited perspectives 👨🎓 collect insights at large scale, hence unleash #collectiveintelligence, which requires a structured process to have people collaborate, learn, and emerge unique insights 👨🎓 engage people as your best #change agents: it's their mindsets that make or break responsiveness to uncertainty; companies that send engagement surveys and 'hope that's enough listening' are simply not the best place to work nor the best culture to win in uncertain markets. I had a fantastic time with Lucy d'Abo diving into the topic of workplace culture.
