🌟 Sustainability is a rising star in film production 🌟 UK's BAFTA WeAreALBERT Studio Sustainability Report tracked 29 studios globally which had significant strides in reducing environmental impacts in the last year. 🎥 Data, on the other hand, as Sustainability's co-star, wasn't quite ready for its close-up... Based on the report, challenges in data collection, management, and reporting continue to impact sustainability. Handling numerous data sources and integrating them in an accurate, standardized, and auditable way tends to be as tough as getting your big break in Hollywood. 🤝 The future for studio sustainability is collaboration! Released today, our Studio Sustainability Standard report shares encouraging insights from 29 studios from across the world who have committed to building a sustainable future. The Studio Sustainability Standard is the first sustainability assessment built specifically for studio spaces – by participating, studios are assessed on their sustainability performances and provided a route-map for development.   Insights from this year’s report include:   ⚡ Using renewable energy sources doesn’t need to be hard – most participating studios are using 100% renewable energy sources which significantly reduces carbon impacts. Some studios have even been able to install solar panels on their sites to generate their own electricity. ♻ Studios are making sustainability easier for productions – either by helping them to donate left over set, props and costumes to local organisations or by helping them to upcycle surplus resources that otherwise would have gone to landfill. 🌟 Participating in the Standard helps studios to navigate the path to being more sustainable. Of the 10 studios who participated in year one and two, 8 have improved their score year on year. We are grateful to all the studios who participated in the Studio Sustainability Standard for committing to a more sustainable screen industry and for sharing their journey with others.
