A Year of Green Innovations! 🌎♻️ This year, the albert Toolkit has continued to be a beacon for decarbonisation within the screen industries. The toolkit comprises the carbon calculator and carbon action plan, and once a production completes both they get awarded a certification. In 2024, 1,300 Productions earned certification! The second round of the Studio Sustainability Standard also launched in 2024, offering a framework for studios worldwide to measure and improve their environmental impact. This year, 30 studios participated, with 17 returning to enhance their scores – showcasing their dedication to reaching net-zero goals. Another focus of 2024 was Sustainable Production. Our albert Creative Energy Scheme was relaunched with a new partner, Ecotricity, providing industry professionals access to 100% green energy at affordable rates. Here’s to a greener, brighter 2025! A year of Progress and Innovation! 📈 In 2024, incredible progress was made in enhancing climate storytelling in the UK screen industry. In November, together with six broadcasters from across the UK we announced a ground-breaking climate content tracking framework to begin in 2025. This initiative, which stemmed from the Climate Content Pledge signed at COP26, is set to transform how we engage audiences with essential climate narratives. By incorporating climate themes into programming and tracking their performance we are building the foundations for meaningful, measurable impact. Reflecting a commitment to using the power of storytelling to inspire change and foster a more sustainable future. 2024 was also the year we launched a new Climate Content showreel which captures the highlights of powerful climate narratives that inspire change and raise awareness. Featuring contributions from leading broadcasters and streamers, this showreel is a testament to the transformative power of storytelling. A year of Global Impact! 🌎🍃 This year we took significant steps to extend our reach beyond the UK, advocating for sustainability in the screen industries worldwide. In 2024, we proudly approved a new international territory partner model, enabling our successful UK strategies to drive decarbonisation and increase climate storytelling to be implemented globally. Our first Territory Partner, Sustainable Screens Australia, has set the stage for this expansion, demonstrating the real power of collaboration. Over the past 12 months, we’ve supported them with new training and multiple Australian productions have now received certification. Advocating for sustainability in the screen industries and educating the wider industry has been important to us. This year, our team participated in numerous events globally, highlights include: ▪️Cannes Film Festival: Our experts shared insights on speaking panels. ▪️Edinburgh TV Festival: We hosted an engaging panel, driving important conversations about sustainable practices. ▪️Climate Week New York & COP 29: Representing the screen industry’s role in addressing climate change and inspiring action. ▪️Media, Production, and Technology Show in London: We connected with over 500 new stakeholders, expanding our network and influence. We’re ready to continue this journey through 2025! #GlobalImpact #Events #Climate #Sustainability #ClimateChange #2024 MPTS Marché du Film - Festival de Cannes Edinburgh TV Festival - Supported by Screen Scotland #COP29

A year of Empowering, Training, and Driving Change! 🎓 Building skills across the industry is essential to help shift culture and ensure that as an industry we’re working together to make sustainable changes. 2024 saw lots of progress in this area. · September was the launch of the albert Academy, we introduced 13 interactive workshops focusing on sustainable production practices and climate storytelling. Thanks to a partnership with ScreenSkills, we introduced an online e-learning and there was also a new sustainability champion’s course endorsed by The Carbon Literacy Project. · Our commitment to decarbonisation and sustainability is further solidified through our renewed partnership with the British Film Institute (BFI). This collaboration led to numerous new training courses, attended by hundreds across the industry. We delivered 40 workshops since September and trained up to 708 industry professionals. · Confidence in sustainability understanding rose from 72% to 93% after workshops. Our participants reported an 89% satisfaction rate with facilitators supporting their learning. Join us in celebrating these achievements and bring on 2025!
