Josh is the youngest of four with two older sisters and an older brother. He is a committed Christian working as a firefighter in the suburbs. Christmas Eve has come, and Josh has returned home to spend the evening with his family, celebrating the birth of his Savior only to face ridicule. Trying to calm the situation, Josh’s father and mother step in and try to control the dialogue, but they, too, secretly harbor deep feelings of their own. At the core of the divisiveness overshadowing the family is Josh’s decision to set aside a potential career as a professional athlete for a more selfless and sacrificial career.

Jake is the oldest of the four and a well-to-do accountant who recently went through a divorce. Adam, Jake’s son, was allowed to come to the gathering and is a bright spot in the whole affair for Josh. Next in line is Sabrina. She is a graphics designer and currently lives with her boyfriend, enjoying a free-spirited and immoral life. Melody is the closest in age to Josh and still lives at home. Barely finishing high school a few years ago, she struggles to find direction in her life. Josh suspects that Melody has turned to drugs as a means of escape, but Josh’s mother and father refuse to believe it. Having spent the last couple of years working part time in a Quick Mart, Melody has grown depressed and distant from all in the family. At one time, she had aspirations to become a writer, but hopelessness has consumed her dreams.

Josh’s mother and father are retired and have been for several years. Both have at one point in their lives professed Christ as their Savior, but apathy has taken the place of a life filled with faith for many years. Josh’s mother has recently begun to reach back toward her faith, but the years of neglect have made it difficult to escape her present state. Dad’s faith is stagnant at best, and he has lost any love for the Savior that he may have once had. Simply bidding his time, Josh’s father waits for the inevitable.

This is my first foray into the Fantasy Genre since college. I have several books planned for this universe and hope to begin the next one very soon. This book was inspired by the challenge to write something that my sixteen year-old daughter would enjoy reading. Using aspects of some of the books that she's read, I created this universe and characters that engaged and held her during the creation process and has her waiting anxiously for the next book.

After digging through several exciting but expensive adventures, the two settle on an amazing and free expedition up a nearby mountain. Little do Chel & Riley know that danger lurks around every turn of the mountain path. On the one hand, the children marvel at the beautiful scenery that God has made; and on the other, wild animals lay quietly in the darkness of a cave waiting for some unsuspecting prey to walk in. The peaceful and pleasant pathways give way to crumbling ledges that lead down rocky cliffs. And most importantly, a lone dark figure lingers in the shadows following the children's every movement. They don't see him, but somehow they know he's there. Is he their friend or a dangerous enemy? What lessons will God teach Chel & Riley on the Great Mountain Adventure?

We then plan on interfacing with a Cloud service that will scrub and augment our address, phone and email data to verify that we have the cleanest data possible. Finally we will be taking our static lead ranking system and creating a customization rules engine around key metadata elements that will allow the business to refine and re-calibrate the final lead ranking score as needed. All of this to improve our lead conversion rate which could bring in millions of additional dollars of revenue into our company and reduce manual manipulation of data.

The objective is to automate the process of taking raw ebooks files and injecting appropriate metadata, applying appropriate structure and then distributing them out to the various vendors that we partner with. The solution will combine Service Oriented Architecture with a sophisticated configuration engine stored in a SQL Server Database. Leveraging .Net 4.5, Entity Framework 6 and ASP.Net MVC, our Dev team will build out a series of various plug-in services that will be available to the managing service. The manager will take each project through its recommended steps applying each plugin as necessary. At the end, the project related files will be submitted to their respective destinations and through various methods including FTP or Web Services. Once delivered, a monitoring service will watch for the projects to become available on the vendors storefronts. Once available, the service will update the status in our system. Overall this project should reduce the rejection rate from our distributors and therefore reduce the time to market for our ebooks. The solution reduces a number of manual steps involved in the process and improves tracking and monitoring of all projects from start to finish.
