Starting the morning out early with Rammiz O. (look he's not on a plane) and Sebastien De Cock on a leadership training panel for Kristina H.. Absolutely appreciate the humor and honesty my fellow panelists brought to the (virtual) table. The focus of this ASPIRE panel was inspired by Rory Read's recommendation of Stephen M. R. Covey's Speed of Trust and how you can put it into context in everyday contexts as leaders. One of the best questions from the audience was, how do you measure trust and it's not really something you find on the social network, but on your own phone. Who can you text or call and who texts and calls you when you need to move the needle on the business. Earning that trust takes time and intention. Great panel, Kristina H.!

The concept of "abundance" vs. "scarcity" orientation is real, as defined by Stephen Covey (Stephen R. Covey Leadership Center). 🤔 Another book entitled *The Nibble Theory* and written by The Kaleel Jamison Consulting Group, Inc. is equally awesome, using metaphors to illustrate the behavior that signals a scarcity mindset - taking a bite out of the "circle" from others. Both of these references are essential to understand the differences of those who live with these mindsets - and how to adapt and "be the example" in your workplace.

What a big week for our climate! The #EPA released its latest rules for refrigerant management under #SubsectionH of the #AIMAct, which will have a major impact on reducing the highly potent greenhouse gas emissions from refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. I also attended FMI- The Food Industry Association's Energy & Store Development Conference, where I gained a whole new appreciation for the responsibility that facility managers have to transform ambitious climate goals and new regulations into facility-level impact. As I reflect on the journey that led to the creation of York IE, I realize how the dots connected in such a unique and meaningful way to formalize our company name and core values. The story starts with my deep connection to Ireland, both personally and professionally. I picked the URL York.IE as my personal domain name a half decade before the business was formalized as our next act…because of these connections. I wanted a place to home my angel investment portfolio, receive startup pitches, host my blog and scale my personal brand. It was unique and fit and it drove shocking site traffic! In the early days of our work with Dyn, a company that specialized in DNS (domain name system) management and later sold to Oracle for $600M, I had the privilege of interacting with incredible clients like Amazon and Facebook, who had made Dublin their hub for key technology operations as they revolutionized the world as we knew it. Dublin, with its thriving tech scene, served as the epicenter for global internet infrastructure, which gave me a front row seat to the future of the web. But what truly stood out was how Ireland was also home to the .ie country code top-level domain (TLD), managed by IEDR (Internet Enterprise Development and Registration), who also became a client. The .ie domain has long been a symbol of Ireland’s growing digital ecosystem and was something that I was passionate about embracing as we built York IE. I partnered with a local registrar to secure the domain and I was off and running. I visited the country many times to see clients and also to speak at The Web Summit alongside Box, HubSpot, Intercom and others. It was step up career milestones for me and I loved it. The name York IE reflects both a personal journey and the values that drive us as a company. The IE part stands for ‘Investment Enterprise,’ a concept I truly embraced during my time at Stetson University as a guest speaker for students studying family business. It’s about building something that’s sustainable, scalable, and rooted in family values… a core tenet of our business philosophy. I learned there that entrepreneurship isn’t just about creating a business; it’s about creating a legacy, the businesses around the foundational business, and something that will stand the test of time, just like the great companies emerging from Dublin today. Finally, for those who know me, you’ll know that no trip to Ireland is complete without enjoying a pint (or several!) of Guinness… my favorite beer and a symbol of everything Ireland represents: tradition, quality, and authenticity. My co-founder and business partner Joe Raczka and I just had a solid trip to indulge in October this year! So here’s to the intersection of history, innovation, and family where it all began for me, and where York IE continues to grow. I’m forever grateful to those who support us on our journey!
