Pro PR Tip 💡 Build media connections and relationships before you need them. Disinformation is a growing problem and having reporters who already are on your side and know what you stand for is the best way to combat the Internet trolls - which seem to be everywhere (even in places you'd expect to be credible). It's much harder to get your commentary placed in the midst of disinformation if they've never heard of you before -- but if they've covered you before and trust you, they'll continue to trust you. Because while you can't totally avoid the dark side of the Internet - repeating your values publicly, prioritizing a positive message and stacking reporters who champion your work will always help you come out on top. 🔥 P.S. I recently attended some workshops hosted by DMAnc.org (Direct Marketing Association of Northern California) and led by PR expert Jonathan Gabay. These sessions offered incredible insights into using AI to create smarter, more impactful communication. If you haven’t explored AI yet, now’s the time! Your approach differs, as these are often purchases of hundreds of thousands of dollars (it's not like selling consumers a blender, for example). The sales cycle is also typically longer. Buyers often do most of their research online before ever contacting a company to make a purchase. It's important to have content on your site that helps them during that process. It's also wise to have earned media coverage in trade publications so your company name comes up when they're searching for a solution. My inner nerd was interested in the news that is Meta ditching workplace. We see Viva Engage gaining traction with clients, and Slack remains popular, but Workplace environments have become wild wests with it super hard to search for content and the noise-to-signal ratio set to TOO LOUD. Will be interesting to see how this pans out and what AI will do to this digital collaboration space. Ok, it's not as interesting as an episode of The Responder, but it's interesting nonetheless!
