Your approach differs, as these are often purchases of hundreds of thousands of dollars (it's not like selling consumers a blender, for example). The sales cycle is also typically longer. Buyers often do most of their research online before ever contacting a company to make a purchase. It's important to have content on your site that helps them during that process. It's also wise to have earned media coverage in trade publications so your company name comes up when they're searching for a solution. Good piece with plenty of pertinent points to consider when approaching strategies. When print was still vogue I curated my own DB of B2B trade editors and reporters, but those use by dates have long expired.
