There is a unique joy that I get to experience as a recruiter that comes when you get to meet the people you’ve only ever seen as resumes, talked to through the screening and hiring process, exchanged text messages, and built a relationship with over several weeks. It’s a full-circle moment that brings a deep sense of accomplishment, purpose and connection. For me, it’s more than just filling a open role; it’s about building meaningful, lasting relationships that extend beyond this process. I am beyond grateful and fortunate to have been able to meet many of my internal and external hires. Seeing someone thrive in a role you knew they were perfect for, is a testament to the work that goes into finding not just ANY candidate, but the RIGHT one! It’s also a great reminder that recruiting isn’t a transactional process - it’s transformative for both the candidate and the organization. Let’s talk resumes. If you’re not hearing back from recruiters, it might not be the recruiter—it could be your resume. Tough to hear, but true for many (not all). Does your resume clearly and concisely showcase the value you bring to a team? Are you including measurable metrics that quantify your impact? If not, it’s time to revise. ✅ Highlight your accomplishments with data, not fluff. ✅ Tailor it to the role you want. ✅ Ensure your contact information is correct and up to date (double-check that email address!). ✅ Applying for a role in a location not near you? Add a note about the locations you’re open to relocating to. Make sure your resume grabs attention and screams, “This is the one!”

Personal Milestone!! 🎉🎉 As we approach our annual performance reviews, I’ve been reflecting on my own goals and achievements over the past 5 years working in Talent Acquisition. I recently hit a recent milestone last month, that I’m really proud of! Over 1,000 call-to-offer stages in the hiring process! Working for two incredible companies during this time, I've spent hundreds of hours phone screening, interviewing, and making sure we hire the right talent. While not every candidate accepted at the offer stage, it’s been an amazing journey to be a part of so many career opportunities, and really life changing opportunities that us in TA provide. I wish I had started tracking these metrics when I began recruiting back in 2017, but it still feels like a huge accomplishment to hit this 1k milestone. 😊 I’d love to hear from all of you below in the comments section. Recruiters reach out a lot, even though I say no to the jobs they have open. 🙄 Candidates response: Jan 21’ - Not interested July 21’ - Not interested Jan 22’ - Not interested but my friend is looking I’ll forward to her. Jan 23’ - Not interested July 23’- Not interested Jan 24’- Not interested July 24’- Not but my wife is looking July 24’- I just got laid- off can we talk now? Hiring doesn’t happen overnight. 🙂 Forward openings to others if you aren’t interested. 🙌 If you don’t tell the recruiter to never contact again, they will, because hiring is about timing! 😉 You can always reach out to a recruiter, if you said no in the past, the worst they can say is no. 📢Reminder!!📢 🚫 Sending the same generic email to every recruiter is not the way to stand out—it’s not effective, and here’s why: 1️⃣ We Can Tell: Recruiters receive hundreds of messages each week, and when you send the same copy-paste email to all of us, it’s obvious. Many even copy and paste messages directly from ChatGPT without personalizing them at all. It shows a lack of effort and doesn’t make a positive impression. 2️⃣ Location Matters: If you’re not even in the region where we’re recruiting, it’s a clear sign you haven’t done your research. For example, I focus on US-based roles- If you’re emailing me about opportunities in India, Europe or Asia, it’s a bad look. I dont recruit for those locations so I would not be best to engage with. Just because I am in Recruiting, it does not mean that I know every single recruiter within our organization- we have over 12,000 employees in over 92 locations and I don't know everyone. I can and will try to help to connect with proper teams but it is never a guarantee- that is why you should apply directly! 3️⃣ Research & Apply: Instead of blasting recruiters, take the time to research the roles that match your experience and apply directly. This shows genuine interest and ensures your application lands in the right hands and I can assure you that for most employers, there is no robot going through resumes- we are real people taking the time to read the resumes we've received on our job postings and we will engage with those who are most qualified or potential best fits for the role, based on the role requirements. 4️⃣ Target the Right Recruiter: Understand who handles the region or role you’re targeting. If you’re interested in a global position, reach out to the recruiter responsible for that area, not just anyone. All career pages have the contact us option, and for most employers, the mailboxes are monitored by real people taking the time to answer the queries received. Can we help 100% of the time, I'm sure we can't like most others, but we certainly try! 5️⃣ Personalize Your Resume: Make sure your resume is tailored to the role and highlights your skills and accomplishments. A well-crafted resume will stand out far more than a mass email ever will. 6️⃣ Smart Networking: Building relationships is important, but it’s more effective to apply for specific roles that align with your qualifications. Applying directly to the right job ensures your application gets the attention it deserves. Targeting the right things when job-searching is key to your success.

DEI & Diversity Recruiting are in the headlines again….its become very clear they DON’T work. Why not?? Because diversity recruiting is a zero sum game. To fill an experienced role with a diverse hire means you have to take that diverse professional from another company. So….What’s the answer??? Junior Talent….more diverse professionals joining the workforce is the rising tide that lifts all boats. We’re seeing more and more diverse junior programs emerge; but frankly, most fall very short when they are measured against existing junior talent programs.
