  • Support for Clinical NP Involvement in Policy Making

    The Journal for Nurse Practitioners

NPs still fill essential gaps, but we also fill needs in a multitude of subspecialized environments. None of what we know today as advanced nursing practice would have been possible if NP leaders had not been fighting all along for regulatory and policy changes amenable to establishing and building our practices. But if all politics are local, we must ask ourselves the question, should policy matters be left to a few skilled and savvy NP leaders? Can we all be involved in shaping the regulatory…

It is imperative for healthcare professionals and patients alike to confront this chronic condition by exploring new interventions. An innovative health care delivery model has emerged in the last 25 years in the form of the group medical visit. Group medical visits can range from of six to twenty patients scheduled together with time allotted for individual care as well as in the group setting.
Objectives: The review objective was to conduct a systematic review and meta-analysis to synthesize the best available evidence related to effectiveness of group medical visits on HbA1c, blood pressure and cholesterol measurements/levels for adult patients with type II diabetes in outpatient settings.

  • The 2023 Health Care Power 100

    City and State New York

Health care is both a deeply personal affair and a matter of paramount importance on a societal scale, as the coronavirus pandemic has made clear. It’s no surprise, then, that policy decisions governing the delivery of health care – how it’s paid for, who has access to it, which illnesses and ailments are considered to be top priorities – generate so much debate, even as the key players share a common goal of healing the sick and saving lives.

City & State’s Health Care Power 100 sheds light on these decision-makers in the medical world in New York, including prominent public officials, influential hospital and health care executives, heads of other nonprofit providers, union leaders, academics and an array of advocates and activists who take their case to Albany and at City Hall. The 2023 ranking takes into account the legislative victories, labor battles, newly launched initiatives and other noteworthy developments from the past 12 months. We’re pleased to introduce this year’s Health Care Power 100. https://www.cityandstateny.com/power-lists/2023/01/2023-health-care-power-100/381744/
