PGA of America Don Rea Why not shut down ExecuSearch use the money saved to invest in the retirement programs for PGA of America Members? There are plenty of Club Industry related search firms out there. The PGA of America should list jobs inexpensively like the CMAA and GCSAA does. It would remove the ethical questions of the PGA of America recommending one PGA of America Member over another PGA of America Member. In the golf industry, several executive search firms specialize in recruiting professionals for roles within private clubs, golf courses, and related areas at no charge to the candidates. I find this interesting. Dan Campbell, coach of the Detroit Lines, is being criticized for giving the game ball to a player other than his QB, who had a "perfect game" in terms of completions thrown. I see this as a sign of a coach focused on the process and, obviously, someone else's performance rose up. I can recall coaching games when I wasn't aware of someone scoring 30 points (basketball) and folks were dumbfounded. To me, they were just doing their job. Executing the plan. I was looking at other things. A great coach focuses on the plan and those things that they can control and influence in the moment. Stats can help, but sometimes we should be looking at intangibles like effort, attitude and belief - not our QB's completion percentage, necessarily. What do you think? Topgolf — the driving range chain where families, friends, and colleagues can whack a few balls onto greens littered with interactive targets — isn’t getting the footfall it used to, leading parent co. Topgolf Callaway Brands Corp. to explore a potential spinoff. Golf ball, bag, and club-making giant Callaway Golf acquired Topgolf in a 2021 deal that valued the make-golf-fun-again brand at more than $2 billion, keen to get in on the less stuffy off-course craze that Topgolf has capitalized on since it was founded 24 years ago. In its latest report, however, the company bemoaned “softer than expected” traffic at the ranges, despite CEO Chip Brewer claiming last year that more people would be visiting a Topgolf in 2024 than “playing traditional golf”. FORE! (quarters of decline) Reduced visitor figures have been weighing on Topgolf’s top line too, with same-venue sales declining in each of the last 4 quarters, as the allure of grooving your swing while surrounded by “loud music, giant targets, giant TVs, and hand-crafted food & drinks” has started to fade a little. In previous quarters, the company had explained that the falling figures were just a correction following a “post-Covid surge in the corporate events business” in the preceding year. The further we get from the pandemic, though, the more difficult it becomes to explain the drops away, with Brewer conceding in Q2 that he’s been “disappointed” with Topgolf’s same-venue sales figures and the company’s share price for some time. Why is PGA Members money being used by PGA of America Officials, Administrators and Staff to subsidize the following events for players that in most cases are wealthier than most PGA Members? PGA of America Women's National Club Championship (There’s already a US Women's Amateur Championship in place subsidized by the USGA which represents amateur golfers in the USA.) PGA of America Men's National Club Championship (There's already a US Men's Amateur Championship in place subsidized by the USGA which represents amateur golfers in the USA.) PGA of America Women's PGA Professional Championship (The LPGA should subsidize their own major and call it the LPGA Tour Player's Championship.) Why do the PGA of America Officials, Administrators and Staff have this tremendous desire to spend the money of PGA Members. PGA Members work long hours for humble pay and then PGA of America Officials, Administrators and Staff turn around and subsidize events for people that are in most cases doing better than PGA Members financially. The USGA is responsible for Amateur Golf in the US. Let them and their wealthy associates take care of Amateur Golf in the USA. The LPGA is charge of Women's Professional Golf in the USA. If they want to conduct an event that cannot sustain itself, let them.

Unit economics is everything in franchising. An awful lot of marketing is done on the basis of Gross Sales only, without data on what it costs to generate those Gross Sales. To make an analogy to sports, the Pacers led the NBA in scoring last year with 123.3 PPG. Comfortably ahead of the Celtics, who averaged 120.6. If these offensive stats were all you had access to, you'd assume Pacers were better at basketball. Yet the Celtics won 64 games (compared to 47 for the Pacers) and went on to win the championship. The Celtics led the league in Plus/Minus (+11 PPG), which compares offensive to defensive performance (with defense being one half of the equation winning). Judging a business by Gross Sales only is like judging a basketball team by how many points it scores. It's not the metric that ultimately matters. "Winning" = Profitability. #franchising

ALL ABOUT WOMEN'S GOLF! We are looking for companies, designers, creators, manufacturers and distributors in the golf industry who want to promote their products to thousands of women who play golf. According to the National Golf Foundation, from 2020 to 2022, more than 800,000 women in America took up the sport, bringing the total to 6.4 million female golfers. While the number of female golfers rose about 15 percent, the male golf pool increased by just 2 percent during that same time frame. In 2019-2020, the number of women golfers was 22% of the industry players, and in 2021, that number rose to 25% and today has reached almost 33%. Between 2014 and 2021, female golfers' spending on golf goods surged by more than 66%. Experts say the numbers are considerably higher now with no signs of slowing. Young girls are learning to play at increasing rates, while women in their 50s and 60s are taking up the game for the first time. My goal is to continue growing the game for women with the LPGA Amateur Golf Association—Myrtle Beach. My greater goal is to connect with creators, designers, manufacturers and distributors of equipment, apparel, and accessories to promote your products to thousands of women golfers who live and play in the Myrtle Beach area and the millions of women who visit. Myrtle Beach is the golf capital of the world, with 17.6 million visitors in 2023. As per the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, visitors spent $10.1 billion on retail trade, and of that, $59.6 million was spent playing golf. I am working on a project that will bring women from all over the U.S. together and captivate them with all the good things in golf. New PGA of America financials are out. Why did the PGA of America sell Valhalla? The word is they had to sell to stay solvent? Maybe some of my friends know the truth. No other club employees or club industry professional associations spend money to grow the game. Why does the PGA of America use PGA Members money to conduct programs while no other professional club association does? Is it to feed PGA of America Officials, Administrators, and Staff? Let the USGA, PGA Tour, Golf Course Owners Association and local amateur bodies use their funds to grow the game. Give the PGA of America money to PGA Members directly to either use to grow the game in their local community (build their standing in their community) or figure out a way to just give PGA Members the money. Stop wasting it on PGA of America Officials, Administrators and Staff. I'm told the top 10 PGA of America Administrators cost the PGA Members 9.8 million dollars a year. Half of that would be a nice chunk of change to give to PGA Members.
