As the golf industry continues to experience record participation, our leadership team gathered to strategize for success in the coming year. Could we aim for more rounds of golf? Absolutely. Could we host more Food and Beverage events? Without a doubt. However, we recognized that none of this would be possible without a strong, unified team, where success is shared across all levels of the Willows. In an attempt to go against the traditional, this year, I took the approach that our leadership team works for our frontline staff. Our role as leaders was to ensure that our team could handle 99% of the challenges they encountered, making on-the-spot decisions based on the training and support that our leadership team provided. This began well before the golf season started. I challenged our leadership team to create comprehensive training guides for each department, ensuring that our frontline staff knew what was expected of them, and just as importantly, what they could expect from us. We created a culture where the voices of our frontline team were first, and almost immediately, we saw a shift in attitude—one driven by the support and encouragement from our leadership team. And the ongoing support wasn’t just operational. We regularly checked in with our frontline staff, not only as team members but as individuals, ensuring they enjoyed working at the Willows, felt empowered in their roles, and knew they had our support. Over time, I saw our leadership team evolve. They listened to their team, and while not every suggestion was implemented, the feedback that was actioned had a noticeable impact. Was this approach perfect? Did it solve every problem overnight? Of course not—and I didn’t expect it to. What I didn’t anticipate, however, was how quickly this approach transformed our team culture. It fostered a spirit of support not just from leadership to staff, but among the entire team. I share this not to boast, but to emphasize that when you build a culture your team genuinely wants to be part of, success becomes much more attainable. This was the first year of this approach, and I’m already excited to see what we can achieve in the future with what we’ve learned.

Understanding the distinction between your position and your swing is crucial in golf. While it may seem basic, recognizing that these are two separate elements can significantly improve your game. Each has to be perfected in its own right for optimal performance. SMART Golf & Fitness Instruction
There's a prevailing notion that one must endure a period of decline before experiencing improvement in golf instruction. While this phenomenon does occur, it is by no means an absolute necessity. In fact, in 9 out of 10 instances, it can be prevented. Although certain adjustments pre-swing can yield immediate positive results, implementing a lasting change in the autonomous execution of a swing pattern demands substantial effort. Depending on the student and the specific swing alteration under consideration, we often advise the student to play with complete comfort, maintaining the same mindset as before the lessons. Although there will come a time when the evolution in their swing thought enhances the likelihood of executing the desired swing pattern; in the initial stages, thoughts alone are insufficient to bring about significant change in the pattern. Hence, students are better off operating as though they haven't embarked on the journey of a major swing change early in the process. It's crucial to remember that the ultimate goal is to diligently work on a pattern so that it shows up whether you want it to or not. Want to hear more? ALL ABOUT WOMEN'S GOLF! We are looking for companies, designers, creators, manufacturers and distributors in the golf industry who want to promote their products to thousands of women who play golf. According to the National Golf Foundation, from 2020 to 2022, more than 800,000 women in America took up the sport, bringing the total to 6.4 million female golfers. While the number of female golfers rose about 15 percent, the male golf pool increased by just 2 percent during that same time frame. In 2019-2020, the number of women golfers was 22% of the industry players, and in 2021, that number rose to 25% and today has reached almost 33%. Between 2014 and 2021, female golfers' spending on golf goods surged by more than 66%. Experts say the numbers are considerably higher now with no signs of slowing. Young girls are learning to play at increasing rates, while women in their 50s and 60s are taking up the game for the first time. My goal is to continue growing the game for women with the LPGA Amateur Golf Association—Myrtle Beach. My greater goal is to connect with creators, designers, manufacturers and distributors of equipment, apparel, and accessories to promote your products to thousands of women golfers who live and play in the Myrtle Beach area and the millions of women who visit. Myrtle Beach is the golf capital of the world, with 17.6 million visitors in 2023. As per the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, visitors spent $10.1 billion on retail trade, and of that, $59.6 million was spent playing golf. I am working on a project that will bring women from all over the U.S. together and captivate them with all the good things in golf. I would love to connect with you to grow my database and present this project to you when all the details are in place. I look forward to learning more about you. I love the golf business. I can't stand the PGA of America Headquarters. Why? Because they give money to PGA of America Officials, Administrators and Staff rather than give it to PGA Members. The PGA of America Headquarters should have 2 budgets. One budget to take care of PGA Championship, Ryder Cup, and National Club Professional Tournaments. Profits left over go to PGA Members directly. (The PGA of America is the same tax classification as the PGA Tour, don't tell me it can't be done.) Second budget to operate the rest of the PGA of America Headquarters. This budget would be similar size as the CMAA and GCSAA. This would eliminate most of the bureaucrats. Drain the swamp. I didn't mind working for 40 years, 6-7 days a week, 8-14 hours a day. (I enjoyed it actually) I DO MIND PGA of America Officials, Administrators, and Staff GETTING PGA MEMBERS MONEY, MONEY THAT PGA MEMBERS ARE ENTITLED TO.

Many Golf Professionals get questions from their students or members about being able to gain clubhead speed as they get older. Many of our SuperSpeed users are over the age of 50. We have seen users of all ages gain speed due to training with our system, but we often get questions about our older golfers. They wonder if they can actually still gain speed at that age and if so what are some special considerations they should think about as they train. In this article, we will review some of the considerations to think about if you are working with older players or if you are an older player looking to gain speed. In a recent article, we discuss several important things to consider while also talking about some misconceptions about speed training. PGA of America Don Rea Why not shut down ExecuSearch use the money saved to invest in the retirement programs for PGA of America Members? There are plenty of Club Industry related search firms out there. The PGA of America should list jobs inexpensively like the CMAA and GCSAA does. It would remove the ethical questions of the PGA of America recommending one PGA of America Member over another PGA of America Member. In the golf industry, several executive search firms specialize in recruiting professionals for roles within private clubs, golf courses, and related areas at no charge to the candidates. Some notable search firms associated with the golf industry include: 1. **GSI Executive Search Inc.**: A client-focused recruitment team with expertise in placements for the private club and hospitality industries. 2. **GBN Executive Search**: Specializes in recruiting accomplished professionals from across the golf industry, including General Managers, Head Golf Professionals, Directors of Golf, and more. 3. **KK&W**: Offers executive job recruiting services for private club executive placement and conducts educational seminars for private club boards. 4. **DENEHY Club Thinking Partners**: A full-service executive search and management consulting firm serving the private club and boutique resort industries. 5. **EHS Recruiting Company**: A national leader in management search for golf courses and country clubs, known for fulfilling hiring needs effectively. These specialized executive search firms play a crucial role in connecting top talent with opportunities in the golf industry, ensuring that organizations find the right professionals to drive success and growth.
