This trend underscores a shift towards stronger, direct connections with potential hires. 🤝 As discussed with my good friend Mickey Pelletier on The Future of Work Podcast, this change in talent sourcing is reshaping the industry landscape. Technology is decentralizing the market, tearing down the old barriers to make hiring more straightforward and less bureaucratic. The roles of MSPs and VMSs are evolving, not disappearing. What % of your staffing business is guaranteed in this business year? Though a borrowed concept from the SaaS industry, #ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue) fits well into the Staffing industry’s context. Annuity Revenue is inherent in the non-tech staffing services, which denotes customer stickiness and low churn. This enables staffing companies to aim for scalability while enhancing reasonable predictability on their cashflows. -Customer churn in the #IndianStaffingIndustry on an annual basis can be pegged at about 5%, which allows the key account managers (KAM) to focus on keeping the services intact and driving wallet share. - Degrowth is a rare occurrence and likely event only when there are economic headwinds, or the customer is experiencing a business downturn.  - The ARR enables staffing companies to forecast account-wise sales and drive expansion.   -In the Non-Tech Staffing business, it's assumed that the inflation-led salary increase grows the business by 4-6% annually -Most Enterprises in the BFSI and FMCG space have shown ‘growth trends’ of around 10% -This enables CFOs and account managers to plan for a 15% growth unless the client’s business or wallet share has already reached saturation point. -Identifying high-growth accounts, maintenance accounts, and risk accounts is the critical role of KAM for ARR alignment -Most established staffing companies get 70% of their annual staffing revenue via ARR; the remaining comes from the growth of these anchor accounts and new logos addition The Risks However, the ARR accounts have their own set of risks. 1)   If the ARR is pegged at 70-80% and they are coming from your top 5-10 accounts, then there is a concentration Risk 2) When you have clients with thousands of contractors, every annual renewal poses competition risk; the renewal is likely to be lower than the previous year, depending on how your competitors price it. 3) Though you may renew the account and protect your topline by reducing the price, the bottom line goes down. The KAMs, however, will argue that the costs of servicing existing accounts go down every year. 4) If the contract is on a flat fee, then % the gross margins on the account and the organisation are affected every year, and if you have many renewals in a year, the CFOs have a lot of explaining to do to their investors. 5) The ARR accounts also enable the staffing companies on the valuation front, though the track record of growing and adding new logos is equally valued. The debate on whether the Business Heads & KAMs need to be rewarded for the retention or growth of these ARR accounts is still in the balance. Anything else on the ARR front?
