It’s time to restock Amrita Health Foods Protein Bars after a very strong Prime Day. We may run out of inventory 😔 later today .. live and learn We have a heat advisory today for Bridgeport, CT! The dehumidifiers are just not able to keep up 95+ degrees and close to 90% humidity. But we put a heads down and get the job done and take frequent icrecream breaks! Recent protein bar improvements and relaunch are paying big dividends. Being vertically integrated is a lot of work - staffing, etc .. but it’s keeping costs down which is allowing us to be profitable and scale. So much of success is operational efficiency- the boring stuff that’s drives profit.

Massachusetts DOR announces tax amnesty dates and terms What happened? The Massachusetts Department of Revenue (DOR) on September 19 issued a press release announcing that it will administer an amnesty program from November 1 through December 30, 2024 for a wide variety of taxes and fees including corporate excise tax, financial institution excise tax, personal income tax, pass-through entity withholding, and sales and use tax. Under the amnesty, tax and interest must be paid but penalties will be waived for returns due on or before December 31, 2024.  Why is it relevant?  For the first time in 10 years, Massachusetts is providing an amnesty program with penalty relief and a reduced look-back period for non-filers. The DOR’s announcement confirms that this amnesty will be broader than the prior amnesty in several significant ways, including applying the amnesty to a range of taxes and fees and extending the amnesty to non-filers, taxpayers with an outstanding balance due, taxpayers currently under audit, and taxpayers filing amended returns to report previously unreported income.  Actions to consider  Taxpayers should consider the potential application of the amnesty to their particular facts, especially in light of the DOR’s decision to extend the amnesty to a broader range of tax types and taxpayer situations.  https://lnkd.in/gSSuaPdM

It’s time to pick delicious (very delicate), ripe berries in my NJ garden…  gooseberries, blueberries, currents & raspberries. I’m a big fan of a cookie dough recipe I learned as a CIA student many years ago made with powdered sugar. This is a ‘chef friendly’ dessert…. Not too challenging! Berry Tart Serves 6 Cookie dough 4.5 oz  Confectionary Sugar 10 oz  Butter, lightly salted 1 ea.   Egg white 12 oz. AP Flour, sifted Pudding 3 oz.  Sugar                                                                          1 oz.  Corn starch                                                                12 oz,Milk, whole                                                               2 ea.  Eggs, freshly cracked                                               1 oz.  Butter, unsalted                                                        2 tsp  Vanilla extract                                                                                               Tart crust 1.    Cream the sugar & butter together until smooth. Add the egg white slowly to incorporate. 2.    Add the flour until just incorporated. Let rest for 30 minutes. 3.    Roll dough into a thin ‘round shape’ on a floured cutting board; place into a fluted tart mold. (round or rectangular); refrigerate. 4.    Place parchment into the tart, fill w pie weights/dry beans to blind bake at 350F until golden brown. When cooled, take out weights & parchment. Pudding 5.    Combine 1 oz granulated sugar with 1 oz corn starch in a bowl. Add the eggs and whisk until smooth. 6.     Heat the milk and sugar, carefully add a small amount of hot milk to the egg mixture while whisking, being careful to avoid scrambling the eggs. Add about half of the hot milk to the egg mixture and then add the egg mixture back to the remaining hot milk in the pot. 7.    Whisk at low heat until thickened, about 6 minutes. Add the butter and vanilla. Strain into a ½ hotel pan, cover loosely with plastic and refrigerate. 8.    To assemble the tart, spoon the pudding into the tart shell, top with berries and sprinkle powdered sugar on top -enjoy. #proud2bcia#acf#amco#rca#Foodie#InstagramChef
