The projections for Medicare 2025 IRMAA are out. This applies to everyone enrolling in Medicare next year. Group medical plans set health insurance rates based on company location, age (Small Group), and overall health of the covered employees (Large Group). Medicare is different. The cost of coverage varies depending on your income. IRMAA (Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amount) is determined by your tax return two years before your Medicare enrollment. If you're working past 65, you can choose to stay on your Employer Group Health plan or enroll in Medicare. If your modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) exceeded $105,000 (filing single) in 2023, you may be subject to the 2025 IRMAA. Staying on the group plan might be more cost-effective if you are subject to paying IRMAA due to your high income. #EmployeeBenefits #Medicare #IRMAA

Centene Corporation reported strong earnings for Q1 2024 and raised its guidance for the year. Negotiations with states over Medicaid contracts were a major topic. Centene is nearly done processing eligibility redeterminations and has already secured some key contracts, like Florida. They expect discussions with states to focus on rates that reflect changes in member needs. Centene beat Wall Street's expectations for profit and revenue in Q1. They increased their full-year earnings guidance to at least $6.80 per share. Total membership dipped slightly, but this was due to the Medicaid redetermination process. Gains in other areas like ACA marketplace plans helped offset the Medicaid decline. Centene secured Medicaid contracts in Oklahoma, Florida, and Michigan but may challenge a loss in Texas.
