OSHAs Walk-Around Rule Proposes Safety and Liability Concerns OSHA's new walkaround rule clarifies the rights of employees during workplace inspections. It allows employees to select a representative to accompany OSHA inspectors, which could include non-employee third parties, such as union representatives, even in non-unionized workplaces. OSHA's proposed rule has been extended for the second time. Please look into it and understand the implications this proposed rule and short compliance timeline will have for your fire, police, or ambulance services. All entities of public safety are affected by this proposed new rule. There is nothing wrong with making a dangerous job safer and I support that, but it needs to be realistic and have a timeline that allows all to work toward the common goal of responder safety. NFA Releases 2 New Self-Study Courses The National Fire Academy has released two new self-study courses. Cost Recovery for Emergency Response (https://lnkd.in/eQ_XB-GA) focuses on cost reimbursement for hazardous materials emergency response, but the concepts are applicable to all response operations. Introduction to Energy Storage Systems (https://lnkd.in/ekcWYHAW) is a short, introductory course on energy storage systems and their hazards.
