Optimizing My TikTok Shop: What I’ve Learned When I first started diving into TikTok Shop, I quickly realized how much small tweaks can make a big difference in driving conversions. Here’s what’s been working for me lately: Set the tone: One thing I’ve found super important is making sure the shop reflects the brand’s vibe. Whether that’s through the visuals, product images, or even the tone of the descriptions—it needs to feel right. It’s like creating a mini storefront that represents you. Short and sweet: When it comes to product descriptions, I try to keep them as concise as possible. What are the benefits? Why does someone need this? Get to the point without overloading them with information. Show what’s real: I’ve noticed that including content from real customers or creators goes a long way. People want to see how others are actually using the product—it makes it more relatable and trustworthy. Don’t skip the comments: Making an effort to respond to comments and engage with people who interact with the content. It’s surprising how far a little interaction can go in building trust and encouraging someone to make a purchase. Leverage your affiliates: Affiliates have been a huge part of spreading the word. I make sure they’re in the loop with any deals or campaigns we’re running so they can share it with their audience naturally, which always helps drive more traffic. Experiment constantly: TikTok is always evolving, so I’m always trying new things—whether it’s testing new visuals or rewording descriptions. It’s all about seeing what clicks. My top ten quotes and their lessons for any product team "Your goal here is to make the best YOUTUBE videos possible." Focus relentlessly on your core product/offering "This is not Hollywood and I do not want to be Hollywood." Breaking down TikTok Shop's affiliate program like it's a nightclub 1. Open Collaboration: An open club where any creator can join—just register and get approved as a TikTok Shop Creator Affiliate (think 21+ to enter). 2. Open Collaboration + Approval: Same club vibes, but now there's a strict dress code and the bouncer is doing vibe checks. 3. Target Collaboration: The exclusive, invite-only spot—like that high-end club everyone talks about (e.g., Zero Bond). ~ But who are the club promoters? Enter TAPs. ~ Think of a TAP as the ultimate club promoter—they know which club fits you best. They're in tune with the scene: age groups, DJs, music genres, trends, and overall vibes. In the TikTok Shop world, TAPs recommend viral trends and products, helping sellers and creators crush it in the social commerce era. They connect the best-fit creators with sellers to make magic happen.

From $1000 a day to $20k per day in just under 2 months. This system that I have created for Tiktok Shop is very simple. 1.) Take a product that is above $25 AOV - place it on tiktok shop. 2.) Create a discord group and funnel all your creators there via a bot. 2a.) Make sure the bot is targeting the right people who already are creating content in that niche. This helps lower down the time it takes to educate the creator 3.) Go in and teach weekly how to create content and give pointers on how to get improve content. 4.) Create weekly incentives that will keep the creator focused week over week. 5.) Engaged with community and rinse and repeat If you need help building out a company owned creator community. We just made 2 big updates to Creator Hooks Pro! TLDR: we improved the title generator and totally rehauled the favorites tab. Here’s what we changed: The biggest change we made in the title generator is we added the ability to select a character limit for the titles it generates for you. We also: • added a little widget that prompts you to try some new Click Triggers • added a little tip next to the description to help you get better ideas out of the generator • cleaned up some bugs In the favorites tab you can now add folders to better organize your saved titles and ideas. You can also: • Add a status to your titles and folders so you can know what stage each idea is in • Add a title that you came up with so you can store all your ideas in one place • Edit saved titles to be written exactly as you want them The mission is to make this the best tool to help you generate video ideas and write better titles. The battle for creator revenue just got interesting. Spotify isn't trying to “beat” YouTube – they're trying to completely change the game. Just listened to Colin Rosenblum & Samir Chaudry's new podcast episode with Daniel Ek. I’m coming out… as a TikTok Creator. 🫣 What started as a hobby has grown into a part-time job as I’ve now spent the past year as a member of the Creativity Rewards Program with over 16K followers and 3.7M cumulative video likes under my belt. Other fun stats: • I currently have an engagement rate of about 40%, which is over 20% more than the average engagement rate for micro-influencers (10k - 50k followers), per Collabstr • My followers are over 80% female, and about half of my total followers are 25 - 34 years old • Over 80% of them live in the US, with 30% living in NYC • I’ve had about 15 videos reach over 1M views, two of which have happened in the last month! • And perhaps my most fun fact - Julia Fox frequently ‘likes’ my videos! I post about reality TV, the entertainment industry, pop culture, and my favorite celebrity’s instagram account: Martha Stewart. All this to say: my fanbase may be small, but my reach is mighty. JUST IN: UMG music is coming back to TikTok. The two have struck a "multi-dimensional" licensing agreement that ends the stand-off. This new agreement will tackle the 3 core issues UMG initially called out: 𝟭. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 “artist and songwriter compensation will be greater than under our prior TikTok deal, and the total value UMG’s artists and songwriters garner from this partnership will be more closely aligned with other platforms in the social music category." 𝟮. I think these are key. I hope these upgraded terms & tools can become the standard for ALL artists on platform, not just those with the largest label on earth.

Why isn't every home services business on TikTok? I see creators raking in meaningful money just by showing the work they're up to (like mowing an overgrown lawn for free) while generating a massive amount of awareness. Add on some how-to videos that 1) helps people do things themselves; and 2) shows people how hard a project can be and the value of bringing in a pro, and you are rolling. If I ran a solo home services business, I'd film everything I can. If I had a team, I'd give them all a cell phone for free with the requirement that they film everything they can. HGTV has been a successful TV channel for years. There's demand for the content. And instead of buying ads or hustling for referrals, you can own a show.

Here are 3 things I wish I did sooner: 1) Build a list with Sales Navigator of target clients   ↳ 10-15 daily connections to bring people in to my world 2) Ask for introductions on every single call. ↳ "Who would benefit from a conversation with me?" 3) Engage with Virtual assistants sooner for admin tasks. ↳ Rehired my old VA for podcast edits, save 20 hrs/week I started April 2nd 2024 Today is May 6th. Here are my results after 1 month(ish) 1) Signed 1 Coaching client 2) Hosted an Audio Live event 3) Signed 1 Ghostwriting Client 4) Onboarding 2nd Ghostwriting Client 5) Recorded 5 podcasts for The Playbook 6) Had 3 paid clarity calls with gaming CEOs 7) Guesting on my 1st LinkedIn live (tonight!) 8) Booked 4 more Podcasts for The Playbook 9) Working with 3 freelancers (Video, Branding, VA) 10) Co-Hosted my first VIP mixer with Daniel & Selim This all happened from: 48 video calls 3 conferences 1 Audio Event 1 VIP Mixer Many conversations.. and many late nights writing. How you know if a brand outreach email is a SCAM! This past week I was at the Sony Kando event in Santa Barbara where I had the pleasure of listening to a workshop by Tyler Chou aka The Creators Attorney where she shared that one of her clients had been scammed and hacked by a fake agency. Thankfully she was able to recover the account with minimal damage - but here are some of my tips on recognizing scam emails! 1. The email is not a business email - you want to make sure the email is something like [email protected] , not [email protected] 2. The email is not addressed specifically to you! I personally never respond to emails that do not address me by my name. 3. The email is poorly written with multiple spelling and grammar errors 4. The offer is vague, or overly exciting/promising. To verify legitimate agencies, I start by going to their website, and looking up the name on Linkedin. In this case, their website was extremely weird and obviously fake and I couldn't find the agent on Linkedin. Ask for the names of past influencers they have worked with, and reach out to them to verify their experience. These are just a few tips I've learned from my career as a creator as well as somebody who reaches out to creators for my position at Popfly.com! What other tips do you have?

TikTok Shop is a strategy play for creators despite what meets the eye. Here are my top findings to maximize your affiliate commissions payout. 📈 1️⃣ High GMV doesn’t necessarily mean high commission payout. Take the below screenshot as an example. Focus on brands that are not only viral and oversaturated but find brands that need affiliate support and leverage higher affiliate payments. 2️⃣ Product price points and AOV do play into commission earnings. Test out brands that have a higher price point or larger AOV versus one-product squeeze brands at lower price points that might drive a quick impulse buy. Transparently, impulse buys are driving likely 90%+ of TTS purchases. It's not a bad thing. Consumers know what they want and seem to enjoy the consumer experience TTS has provided. 3️⃣ Work with a team that can help you maneuver and bypass any violations that may occur. TTS is full of rampant sellers that don’t have everything lined up yet regarding inventory, shipping, or customer service. A violation can set back affiliate commission earnings trajectory significantly and kill viral organic or paid-backed videos that can drive affiliate earnings. 4️⃣ I am currently seeing MoM earnings scale through single brand-to-creator partnerships and often involving an increase in individual creator-to-brand dedicated videos. A successful TikTok Shop video can deliver affiliate earnings for several months at a time. 5️⃣ Create an aggressive post schedule and begin to integrate TikTok Live streaming as an effective GMV-driving tactic.
