So its been eye opening in my first few months at BRIA AI to hear that many enterprise customers are using Stability AI, OpenAI, Midjourney, Google's Gemini and other tools and accepting their indemnities as a means of overcoming the vendors' inability to vouch for the legal provenance of their training data. Meta just made a huge move that could change the future of AR/VR 🤯 Zuck just announced that Meta will be open-sourcing its Horizon OS, which is the operating system behind its AR/VR headsets. This is a huge move, which feels very reminiscent of the Android vs iOS (Google v Apple) narrative of the early Smart Phone era. With "AI" becoming the second or third word everyone is throwing around lately. This comes as no surprise. "...AI tools capable of generating realistic music... using AI versions of real artists’ voices...Many artists have expressed concern... could undermine human work and compensation." Crazy how these tools can generate and create entire songs, recordings, movie clips, etc. using someone else's real voice. With no consent either! I believe this is the beginning of a major shift in the way you are "allowed" or "not-allowed" to use real human voices in this space. I fear that AI will continue to undermine Artist's work and compensation. What are your thoughts? And where is this going? In-game advertising is not necessarily an "if you build it, they will come" solution for brands. Brands need to weigh their advertising goals with the player experience in different formats. For multi-player platforms like Roblox and Fortnite, there needs to be a promotional element to attract players into their activation. With mobile games, there needs to be either a push (a system activation of an ad) or a pull (an incentive that inspires engagement). But when brands marry great activations and offers with the right promotion, they can achieve outsize outcomes for their campaigns. #AdTech #Gaming #Innovation

Overview: Publishers are facing down the latest existential threats - the one-two punch of GenAI scraping and SEO upheaval - with a blend of grit and resignation, like the heroes in a post-apocalyptic desert epic (“Mad Max: The Open Web”). Overheard: “Is it even organic traffic anymore?” OUT: Metered paywalls. IN: Dynamic paywalls Also IN: Knowing thyself and focusing on thy niche. Exhibit A - Punchbowl News via founder Anna Palmer: “Capitol Hill is not the sexiest place, but billions of dollars go through that building.” The brand has 100% penetration on the Hill, a list of 180K, and rev that's +100% YoY. Heck. Yeah. Exhibit B - Axios via CRO Jacquelyn L. Cameron: Even as the overall news audience is “splintering into different bubbles,” the brand's dogged focus on “Smart Professionals” and “influencing the influencers,” is working: Fourth quarter is closing the gap of a tumultuous CY24, and she reports 3X as much revenue pre-booked for 2025 today, as it was in Sept 2023. Love to see it. Overheard: “All of these vendors, but no one can solve native ad insertion in emails.” And not display ads, or modules that look like display ads. You get it. LLM-powered dubbing. It's a mouthful. And a jaw-dropper 🤯 Here's just one example 👇 Context Aware Scene Translation (CAST) So before even starting a translation, we'll use LLMs to fully analyse a script. Things like: What's the vibe, what are the key topics, and who is the intended audience for the translation? Then we'll pass specific instructions to the translation engine. I.e. Jane is passionately explaining to John about how trees can talk. The mood is hopeful. Jane is off-screen, so translate for emotional intensity. John is on-screen, so translate for timing and lipsync. (NB: our prompts don't actually read like that. That bit is our secret sauce 🤫) The result? We compared a set of videos with CAST to the best-in-breed machine translation engines from Big Tech. CAST delivered 38% improvements in translation accuracy and 56% boosts in audio-visual alignment. What that means... We used to say that our professional translators and dubbing directors were there to fine tune the last mile. Now it's just the last 100 meters 🏃‍♀️💨

Reading "The Storyteller" by Dave Grohl was like sitting down for dinner with a rock legend. Dave shares his journey from being in Nirvana to leading the Foo Fighters, filled with stories about the music industry and his personal experiences. It's a fun read that gives you a real sense of what it's like to be a musician at his level. What I learned from this book is that passion and perseverance are key. Dave faced plenty of challenges, but he kept pushing forward because he loved what he was doing. He also talks about the importance of staying true to yourself and letting your creativity shine. So, here's what you can take away from Dave's story: Keep going even when things get tough, always be yourself, and don't be afraid to embrace your creative side. No matter who or what is challenging you.
