Design: "I’ve drawn it perfectly! Everything fits like a puzzle!" Production: "These dimensions don’t exist in the real world… unless we’re building in a parallel universe where physics takes vacations." Project Management: "Can we have it installed by yesterday? Also, the GC just moved the deadline up by a week just because he enjoys watching us slowly descend into madness" Install Team: "Wait, so you're telling me this 20-foot wall panel has to fit through a 10-foot door? Cool, cool… does anyone have a shrink ray lying around?" It’s like a relay race where instead of handing off a baton, we’re all passing around a frantic smile and a silent prayer. By the time install rolls around, we’re all basically superheroes - except instead of flying, we’re dodging meltdowns, performing miracles, and bending the laws of space-time just to make things work. TWO of the items are the 100% NOT discussed enough: • Customer Experience: EWP and other BPMs that have full training and technical headcount. Offsite fabricators and factories seldom launch with this nor sustain it. The good ol' boy "ship it and snip it" approach won't work anymore. • De-risked ecosystem: Specialty trades are the de facto standard not because it provides better quality, but because GCs and Builders quickly saw the value in shifting risk downstream. So, we have GCs and Builders that don't even own tool bags but are basically contract and project managers.
