Houston brand experience firm, BrandExtract, LLC, renewed its partnership with the San Jacinto Museum of History to redesign the nonprofit organization’s website, focusing on dynamic, interactive features and increased access to regular and future patrons. Among other goals, the new San Jacinto Museum website is expected to:

    • Increase museum attendance
    • Increase website visibility and awareness of the Museum among new users
    • Help with fundraising efforts

To kick off the project, the entire BrandExtract team visited the monument, museum and Albert and Ethel Herzstein Library. Located on the 2nd floor of the monument, the lbraryis one of state’s best-kept secrets and a treasure trove for history researchers and geneologists with a Texas hero in their ancestry.

After a research-intensive assessment process, led by Malcolm Wolter BrandExtract's creative and interactive teams freely explored leading edge tactics and technologies that were ultimately implemented to create a fully engaging website.

Some key features of the new site include:
    • Searchable catalog of the museum's art and artifacts, including photos, descriptions and hundreds of biographical profiles.
    • Access to the Herztstein library’s finding aids for both amateur and professional historians..
    • Interactive map comparing the battleground in 1836 to the modern landscape
    • Engaging, informative illustration of the San Jacinto Monument, built in 1936.
    • Detailed timeline recounting the events leading up to the historically critical Battle of San Jacinto
    • Battle reenactment videos
    • Visitor and educator resources, including the acclaimed Curriculum Guide which has been downloaded and used by thousands of teachers across the Lone Star State
    • and much more...

Established in 1947, Cho-Yeh Camp and Conference Center is a premier Christian camp and retreat center in Livingston, TX. The organization's mission: To be "a place where Jesus Christ transforms lives through meaningful relationships and outdoor adventures." The name Cho-Yeh comes from the local Alabama-Coushatta Indian language and means "land of tall pines." For many years, Cho-Yeh has been a place where both young and mature have grown in their faith and character. We believe that the camp and retreat experience can be one of the most powerful and transformative times in a young person's life. While our mission statement is the lens through which we view all of our programs, our approach to ministry varies between our summer camp and retreat programs. Through summer camp, our goal in building the faith of our campers is not one driven by a conversion experience, but rather we hope to meet campers where they are in their faith and challenge them to grow in their relationship with Christ. Through guest retreats, we have a heart for the ministry of hospitality and work closely with group leaders to help them succeed in carrying out the goals of their retreat or event.

Each child that registers receives a backpack with an Entrepreneur Workbook that teaches them the 14 lessons of Lemonade Day like creating budgets, setting profit-making goals, serving customers, repaying investors, and giving back to the community. Along the way, they acquire skills in goal-setting, problem solving, and gain self-esteem critical for future success. They keep all the money they make and are encouraged to spend some, save some and share some.
