🌟 Rethinking Project Management in Supply Chain Transformations: The 3Ws Approach 🌟 In a recent discussion, I challenged a colleague on how project management is often too backward-looking—focused on “what happened” through spend reviews and status updates. While understanding the past is essential, it’s just the starting point. The real value lies in asking: 1️⃣ What happened? 2️⃣ What is likely to happen? 3️⃣ What can we do about it? This forward-thinking approach, which the leadership of my company, o9 Solutions, champions for supply chain planning problems, transforms project management into a tool for insight and action. Too often, project reviews stop at step 1. But by applying the Bayesian analysis framework, we can dynamically interpret past data to anticipate risks and opportunities (step 2) and adapt strategies proactively (step 3). 👉 What is Bayesian analysis? It’s a statistical approach that updates probabilities of predictions as new data becomes available. In project management, it allows us to move from static assumptions to continuously refined insights, improving decision-making in real time. In supply chain transformations, this shift ensures project updates don’t just report the past—they shape the future. I'll admit the contrarian in me gets worried at forecasts like this. The Gartner global CSCO community has an overwhelming optimistic outlook for 2025, but is it warranted? Learn what the Gartner for Supply Chain community expects for supply chains in the coming year. #SupplyChainManagement #SupplyChainSolutions

All of this points toward the need for a strategic and integrated supply chain focus and especially the role of strategic sourcing. Although I have not seen this pan out (yet?) in terms of demand, hiring, needs, I am certainly curious to see what unfolds and welcome any other insight / perspectives!

Reconnected with some old high school friends this weekend. While it was bittersweet to come together to celebrate another friends life, the experience left me reflecting on a few key lessons: 1. We’re all evolving. The person we were years ago is not the same person we are today. Life shapes us, challenges us, and helps us grow. This realization hit me hard during our conversations. 2. Life is short. It’s incredible how quickly 25 years can pass. Time is precious, and we only get one chance to make it count. 3. Prioritize your health. This past year, I made a conscious decision to focus on my health, and it’s been the best decision I’ve made in 18 years. A long, healthy life is something you’ll never regret investing in. 4. Never stop learning. Learning fuels growth and keeps us from stagnating. I’m passionate about lifelong learning, particularly in areas like: • Leadership • The manufacturing industry (with a focus on Industry 4.0, packaging manufacturing, and machine building) • Business building These moments of reflection remind me how important it is to stay connected, embrace growth, and prioritize what truly matters. #leadership #friendship #businessbuilding #manufacturing

This is a great article by Sustainability Magazine that highlights the importance of collaboration in sustainability with contributions from Suntory Global Spirits, Walmart and Ball Corporation. My comments were focused on the importance of the eco system with retailers, manufacturers and 3PL's aligned together to remove carbon and cost. #sustainability
