Consistently applying the 5:3:2 rule—five posts about relevant content, three posts of your own, and two personal or fun—can greatly enhance organic reach and engagement. The optimal cadence depends on the specific industry and the nature of the product or service. Much ado about nothing... Apple is at the center of controversy over their new ad. In my opinion, who cares. It does what ads are intended to do...capture attention and get folks talking about it. Does this translate to sales? That's the question every advertiser has when a new ad campaign is launched. The answer, sometimes yes, sometimes no. Is the negativity around this ad likely to shift consumers using competitors' products to Apple? Nah. Unlikely. Is the negativity around this ad likely to shift consumers of Apple products to competitors? Equally unlikely. Will this commercial drive existing owners to upgrade? Unlikely. The typical Apple consumers are brand loyal and can't even begin to imagine that Microsoft, Google, Samsung or other would be a better product. Apple continues to push the envelope and emotions. Exactly what industry leaders do. The iPad has been stuck for years. Will this controversy cause me to upgrade my iPad Pro from 2020? Nope. So, who wins...Apple. Period. End of story.

When you're putting a lot of stuff out there—and it's good stuff—valuable, useful, helpful content for your audience, but it's not moving the needle, there's a common culprit. I explain why there and offer a new framework for how you can restructure your content for stronger engagement. Are you giving your team feedback or criticism? At a recent Endurance group with Studio/E, Nicole Sullivan shared some wisdom about feedback versus criticism. Feedback focuses more on future improvements, while criticism dwells on the past. In addition, feedback addresses specific actions, behaviors, and outcomes, while criticism is more generalized and personal. I’m trying to apply this learning more in my conversations and to prioritize specific, future-focused actions that my colleagues can take to improve instead of being vague or general about previous actions they’ve already taken. #Feedback #Criticism #FeedbackVSCriticism

It would appear that META had a field day with folks at MJBiz. If your account has been disabled, you can take steps to recover it. (DM if you don’t know how) Andplusalso, this is a great opportunity to diversify. Bluesky is great. Shout out Amy Donohue for turning me onto to that one. Discord. Reddit. YOUR OWN EMAIL DISTRIBUTION LIST! Newsletters take a minute to gain momentum but they’re so important. The message here is that META is not friendly to our industry so don’t rely on them. I’ve had tremendous success with TikTok but admittedly it’s not cannabis content. I focus on current events and politics while shifting that following over to my other accounts. Get creative. But make changes. Now.
