Travelling as a workawayer can be incredible, but if you want to make the most out of your experience, you’ll need to think about what kind of help you realistically can — and want — to offer before taking the leap. If you’re used to a 9-5 office job for instance, living out at sea on a ship could be a shock to the system. Likewise, you’ve never been around animals or experienced rural living, then workawaying on a farm could potentially be overwhelming too. You don’t necessarily need experience, but with enough preparation and an open mindset, this way of travel is the best way to grow as you get to discover new skills and interests while making a difference! For those who are up for an adventure of a lifetime, here’s some of our honest tips on how to figure out if Workaway is right for you: https://lnkd.in/gDX4KRja

Why travel you ask? Well, because it's fantastic for our brain too🧠📈👀 // 💡Travelling means you'll be going outside of your social comfort zone. When we enjoy an interaction with someone for the first time, our brain releases dopamine, which makes you feel good and encourages you to pay more attention to the information you’re hearing! 💡Going somewhere you don't know the language well means you'll probably be picking up new words and phrases in a second language, which can improve general intelligence and reading abilities as well as improving memory. 💡When you're not familiar with your surroundings, the change in environment helps train up your cognitive flexibility as you’re improving your brain’s ability to deal with problems, and putting your memory skills to the test. If learning a new language has always been on your to-do list, but you've never quite managed to tick it off too...? We definitely get you! The idea of sitting in a stuffy classroom and paying hundreds of thousands for lessons certainly doesn't seem fun. So let's try a different way instead and learn from+with the true experts: locals! 😍 By immersing into a native-speaking country and experiencing local life, we promise you'll finally get to pick up or polish your dream language by the end of your trip: https://lnkd.in/gFhSnvnH
