Did you know our WB Analytics team at WB Games Boston builds and manages the game telemetry data infrastructure that supports all our titles? Meet one of these brilliant architects, Data Engineering Manager karthik kadiyam! He first began his career in the healthcare industry after obtaining his master’s in computer engineering – but Karthik later joined Warner Bros. Games where he now focuses on delivering real-time analytical data at scale to game studios, enabling them to enhance user experience, optimize game mechanics, and drive valuable business insights. “I grew up playing video games like Mortal Kombat,” recalls Karthik. “It’s a dream come true that I now get to be a part of these titles and help make them even better for our fans.”. Having led multiple projects, it’s hard for him to pick a favorite title, but he does say that nothing beats the excitement of launch day. “Being in the thick of things during a game’s launch day is thrilling,” says Karthik. “Everyone is locked in, ensuring systems are performing smoothly, supporting live data monitoring and troubleshooting any issues that arise. So much goes into preparing for this day behind the scenes and it’s really rewarding to see all the positive feedback from our players.” Throughout his decade-long tenure at the company, Karthik has been exemplary in his work ethic and dedication, but he credits his team for bringing out his best. “I’m grateful to work alongside some of the best talent in the world,” he says. “It’s really the people and the culture here that keeps me motivated to do my best work.” But when he’s not at work though, you can find him playing cricket and basketball – or even catching a game of his favorite NFL team. He also loves spicy food and highly recommends the South Indian dish, Ulavacharu Biryani. But be warned, it’s not for the faint of heart! #EmployeeSpotlight #LifeAtWBG

We believe Warner Bros. Games has the best talent in the business, but who helps manage this talent? Meet Bilal Bencharef, our People and Culture Coordinator at Rocksteady Studios Ltd! As part of the P&C team, Bilal supports everything from employee relations, learning & development, DEI, benefits, payroll and more. “Welcoming new joiners, connecting them with our team, introducing them to our projects and seeing their excitement to be a part of Rocksteady has always been a very rewarding part of what we do,” says Bilal. Born to immigrant parents from Algeria and raised in London, Bilal has always been passionate about the art of making video games and grew up as a huge fan of Rocksteady himself. “The Batman: Arkham series was my favorite videogame franchise growing up,” he recalls. “Being able to work at the studio that made these iconic games, collaborating with the developers, and picking their brains about their experiences is fascinating. Plus, getting to see up close the work that our amazing artists, coders, producers, and QA testers do is a nice part of the job.” In his role, Bilal also aims to constantly improve his capabilities to support our employees – and he most recently completed a program to become an accredited mental health first aider. But when he’s not at work, he thoroughly enjoys watching horror films (as a self-described “reformed scaredy-cat”), participates in various movie clubs and dabbles in acting classes as well.🎬 #EmployeeSpotlight #LifeAtWBG

Changing careers can often be a daunting prospect, but for David Czarnecki, it was simply a leap he had to take. After working at an esteemed global research lab for over a decade, he fatefully discovered a WB job posting for a role in games. “As a lifelong gamer, I distinctly remember asking my husband, ‘I have to apply for this, right?’” recalls David. “The rest, as they say, is history.” Today, David serves as an Advanced Software Engineer on our Title Services team at WB Games New York, where he focuses on the various integrations & products that bridge between our Network Services and Game Services to support our titles – encompassing everything from new marketing activations to routine bug reports. “As the Central Online Technology group for all of Warner Bros. Games, we get to work with all of our studios & partners to supply the services they need to deliver the best game possible and to provide unique & meaningful player experiences,” says David. “I am grateful to be able to work across so many different genres of games to delight our players. I like to say that working alongside the sharpest minds in the industry, if our game teams can dream up the service, we can deliver it!” After a whopping 17 years with the company, David has accomplished the impressive feat of holding roles across ALL of the studio’s various engineering groups, including Live Operations and Tools. But most notable of all, he is on track to achieve a milestone metric of bringing more than 50 AAA titles to our players around the globe! While he is proud of all the games he’s supported, he is especially honored to have worked on the Mortal Kombat franchise for nearly 15 years. “When you are part of a genre-defining game like Mortal Kombat that has a 30+ year history, you truly see the passion and perseverance from the game team, as well as from our fans,” says David. “It has been amazing to witness how the game, its characters, its story and more has evolved over that time. Mortal Kombat really is unique in that whether you're young or old, you have definitely heard of the game.” And speaking of notoriety, David has also built up quite the reputation for himself around the office as a dedicated year-round runner. To date, he’s completed seven full marathons plus countless half marathons – and continues to use running as a cheeky excuse to travel the world. 🏃♂️ #EmployeeSpotlight #LifeAtWBG
