When the US Bill of Rights was drafted and ratified, it was in response to public fears about the security of individuals' rights. The pace and reach of AI development might spark similar feelings for many people. As all this evolves, it's important to continue to find the balance between exploration and innovation, and protection and tradition. That balance is often on a razor's edge. I've worked with the team at WaitWhat for a long time and have known them to be incredibly high-integrity, always looking out for individual rights and the public good. So it's no surprise to me that their team has taken a crack at drafting "The Listener's Bill of Rights in the Age of AI." It brings up some important points, and ultimately is seeking that fine balance I mention above. This space will continue to evolve as quickly as AI does, so these points will be tested and likely nudge this into being a living, growing document. I applaud this artifact for the conversations it may start—and hope it does.

AI is coming to media at scale. And it’s coming fast. How are AI-generated voice clones created and implemented in a podcast? What rights should listeners have to know where and how AI is being deployed? Masters of Scale is pulling back the curtain in our latest episode. And we are offering a first stab at a Listener’s Bill of Rights. If you read and listen to one more thing this weekend, please consider these. In today’s special episode, Reid Hoffman announces Jeff Berman, CEO of WaitWhat — the company that brings you Masters of Scale — as a host of Masters of Scale. Jeff joins leaders, entrepreneurs and visionaries who’ve sat in the host chair, including will i am, Angela Ahrendts, and, of course, Reid Hoffman, who’s continuing to host episodes and remaining a key presence on the show. Welcome, Jeff! This week, Reid and Jeff talk about what it really means to be a re-founder, and why re-founding versus stepping into the role of CEO is vital to the technology-driven, future-forward business landscape of today. Most importantly, they reveal how it’s not just business leaders and execs, but truly any employee who can channel a re-founder’s mindset and inject new life and spark evolution in their work.
