👋🏼 Hello from Rwanda 🇷🇼 First, thank you to Amath Pathe SENE, Managing Director at AFS Forum, for the invitation to be one of the speakers at the Africa Food Systems Forum 2024 on the « Innovate, Accelerate, Scale: Delivering Food Systems Transformation in a Digital Era » theme. I had the privilege and the opportunity to raise public awareness about the importance in the marketing, sales, branding & packaging issues involved in the #Africa agricultural production. ➡️ The “Terr’Africa” journey began in 2022, when International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) was looking for a #Branding & #Packaging partner agency to help small, independent farmers in West Africa. Small holder farmers in Africa need to bring value to their produce. Stop selling only in bulk unbranded products at very low prices to richer countries. Thanks to a budget allowed by the Ivory Coast Government & International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), this project began. 🌍 With this program IFAD & Team Creatif, with the support of Amath Pathe SENE, we gave the products a name, a brand, a value. This helped consumer recognition in local street markets as well as in the modern trade shelves. With bright sunshine yellow packaging visibility and stand out. The “Terr’Ivoire” — “Terr’Africa” branding will be scaled out to other African regions. Why did we choose to join the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)’s war against hunger and poverty ? ⤵️ Because I was born in Tanzania, at the foot of the majestic Kilimanjaro Mountain. My personal attachment to this African land explains my passion for this project. The current living conditions of so many Africans is also a motivation for me. 🥭 We first did a test market for dried mango in Abidjan, before being extended nationally in 2025, contributing to the pride and, above all, better remuneration of mango producers in Korogho. It is at this occasion that I discovered the diverse activities of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) that is present where poverty and hunger are the most intense. Confronted to this reality, I realized I needed to be implicated in Africa where our mission “Designing beautiful tomorrows” takes on a new meaning.
