On National Entrepreneur Day, Josh Hemphill recounts the experiences that led to him launching three offices as a State Farm independent contractor agent. After earning a finance degree from Virginia Tech, Patrick Blevins was approached by a State Farm agency recruiter asking why he hadn't considered becoming an independent contractor agent like many of his family members. Little did he know, his aspiration to help others would eventually lead him toward this career path. "Growing up, I witnessed the influence State Farm agents have in their communities, yet I was drawn to a career focused on helping others manage their finances. Through further discussions, I learned the vast opportunities available as a State Farm agent.” In 2012, Patrick opened his first agent office in Lexington, VA, followed by a second location in his hometown of Waynesboro five years later. "Both offices have continued to hit the goals we've set. I'm fortunate to have such a remarkable team and I genuinely love coaching and developing them every day.
