Our East Anglia TWO offshore windfarm will provide a further boost to the UK economy as Taylor Woodrow joins our roster of supply chain partners helping deliver the £4 billon project off the coast of Suffolk. The contract will see the company deliver civil engineering works for EA2’s onshore substation. Beginning in 2025, the award is expected to support around 80 jobs during the duration of the contract and will include highway improvement works as well as landscaping and screening. Manging Director for Offshore Ross Ovens added: “Taylor Woodrow has an outstanding reputation and successful track record of delivering vital infrastructure projects like this. It’s fantastic to welcome them on board and have them join our East Anglia supply chain family to support our onshore substation works.” 💚 Learn more here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gH-2ta5d

East Anglia is the heart of our offshore wind operations, so we’re delighted to confirm the signing of a reservation agreement with Peel Ports Group Great Yarmouth for the use of the site as the pre-assembly port for our East Anglia TWO offshore windfarm. The agreement will see components which make up 64 turbines brought together from across the UK and mainland Europe – including the 192 blades manufactured at Siemens Gamesa’s factory in Hull – and marshalled before offshore installation begins in 2028. Our Managing Director for Offshore Ross Ovens said: “It’s fantastic to be working with Peel Ports Great Yarmouth to bring that to life for people and businesses across East Anglia, while showcasing the world-class facilities we have here on our doorstep to support a global industry. I look forward to seeing our towers of green power take shape when the project gets underway.” Learn more here 👉 https://lnkd.in/edwwDEsn

We had a whale of a time at the Scottish Maritime Cluster’s school STEM event in Glasgow last week 🐳 Over 100 S3 pupils from six schools across Glasgow attended, giving us an opportunity to showcase some of the skills involved in an offshore wind career and to explain more about our 2GW MachairWind project off Scotland’s west coast. Pupils were impressed with the construction of offshore turbines and their immense size - brought to life through some VR headsets – and it was a pleasure to answer insightful questions on how turbines are built, how they are installed far out at sea and how much it all costs. Thanks to the Cluster for the fantastic opportunity to highlight the importance of maritime skills within Scotland’s growing offshore sector and to inspire the workforce of the future 💚 Learn more about a career in offshore wind here 👉 https://lnkd.in/eF2DKvnF

Our East Anglia TWO offshore wind project continues at pace, and we are pleased to confirm Nexans as our partner for cable delivery. Nexans will supply and install approximately 100km of 275kV high voltage subsea export cables and 55km of onshore cables which will connect our windfarm to the UK grid 🔌 ScottishPower Renewables CEO Charlie Jordan said: "It’s great to have Nexans on board again as a trusted partner as we continue to secure our supply chain for East Anglia TWO on the back of our renewables auction success. The company’s strong track record and expertise in 275kV AC technology – combined with its ability to deliver on schedule – made it the obvious choice. “East Anglia TWO marks a £4 billion investment for ScottishPower as we continue to build more green generation for the UK and we look forward to working with Nexans to bring it to life.” 💚
Nexans has been awarded an important contract with ScottishPower Renewables, for the East Anglia TWO offshore wind farm in the southern North Sea. This project represents a significant step forward in supporting the UK’s renewable energy ambitions. 🔧 Our role: We will supply and install approximately 100 km of 275kV high-voltage subsea export cables and 55 km of onshore cables to connect the wind farm to the UK grid. These cables will be manufactured at our advanced facilities in Halden, Norway, and Charleroi, Belgium, ensuring the highest levels of quality and reliability. ⚡ Project impact: Located 33 km off the Suffolk coast in the southern North Sea, East Anglia TWO will deliver up to 960MW of renewable energy—enough to power hundreds of thousands of homes. 🗓 Timeline: Cable installation is planned for 2027–2028, with project completion by the end of 2028. Building on our successful collaboration for East Anglia ONE, this new project further strengthens Nexans’ leadership in the offshore wind sector. Pascal Radue, EVP of Nexans’ PWR-Transmission Business Group, commented: "This award is a testament to Nexans' proven expertise in high voltage cable solutions and highlights our commitment to delivering projects on time that drive the UK's renewable energy ambitions forward." Together with Scottish Power Renewables, we are shaping a sustainable energy future. 👉 Read the full announcement: https://lnkd.in/dhsYErV7 #OffshoreWind #RenewableEnergy #EnergyTransition #Sustainability #Nexans

Taylor Swift releasing “Shake it Off", Interstellar hitting screens, 'that' Oscars selfie - 2014 was quite a year! It also saw the opening of ScottishPower Renewables and Iberdrola Renewables’s first offshore windfarm – West of Duddon Sands - off Barrow-in-Furness. Developed and operated with our partners Ørsted, the 389MW project has now been running for over a decade, providing enough clean green electricity to power the equivalent of more than 340,000 homes every year 🏡 Ten years on, we’ve gone from investing millions in renewable energy to investing billions, and from building megawatts to gigawatts. But the project still holds a special place for many of our colleagues, as you can see from the video below. Wishing West of Duddon Sands a happy tenth birthday – and here’s to many more years to come 💚 Learn more here 👉 https://lnkd.in/es_V4nM3
